Yeah it is really high. I think people assume that being active and no suspensions is enough, but it is quite high.
Because for YEARS you were getting your TL3 from the Beta group permissions. You were not getting it from the character-server account that is just you. When the TL3 perma permissions were removed from the Beta group you are in, it meant you had to have earned it on your own.
Your current trust level is TL2. Group TL2 has some white listed sites, but can’t post most images or clickable links.
When your character earns the requirements for TL3 the forum software will automatically move you to the TL3 group with the TL3 group permissions. That is re-evaluated on a rolling 100 day basis.
Did they change the rules about being suspended? Being suspended didn’t used to necessarily reduce your level, you would still be able to post images when the 24-hr silence was over.
No they did not change the rules. They fixed the Beta group permissions that were giving account wide permanent TL3 to some accounts when it should not have been. Those people had TL3 on all characters, did not have to meet the TL3 reading/visiting requirements, and did not get removed with account penalties.
So, now that the Beta group is not giving permissions it should not be, a suspension correctly removes TL3 from the character-server forum account that was penalized. They can earn it back starting 6 months later.
The rules were always there, they were just not being applied to people in the Beta group.
No, you are not permanently barred. Six months after the end of your last penalty you can start earning the TL3 back. The way the forum works, it is indeed supposed to remove TL3 if a forum account gets a penalty. Any penalty.
so wait, say if i got banned with a tl3, i come back, and i can’t start getting stuff back until AFTER the 6 month period? you cant start over right after the ban? i thought it was ban, then it takes 6 months to get ur stuff back. didnt know there was a hold.
Yes, there is a hold. It used to be that you can never earn TL3 back again if you are penalized on the forums. That was changed to 6 months.
Once that 6 months expires, the forum software will start evaluating your days visited, posts read, likes given, etc. Those stats will count towards promoting you from the TL2 group up to TL3. That is all done by the forum software automatically.

I know they silence people for stuff like that (I’m assuming it didn’t include the school shooter text) but leave all the actual toxic comments in the forums. I know now only to post game-related images.
This is particularly challenging if you are someone who manages pinned threads as well, like myself. I can no longer update those threads, which are helpful resources to members in my server community and beyond.
The Trust Level grind is very challenging, particularly with regard to life balance.
They should just get rid of the inane “trust level” system and allow everyone the fun of occasionally posting links, images, videos, and gifs as long as they haven’t been suspended. They could put simple limits like 1 each per day per account.
