Hello Blizzard,
I would like to report what appears to be a possible Devastation Evoker Scalecommander bug related to the March 24, 2026 tuning changes.
On March 24, Devastation received these changes:
A week earlier, on March 17, Devastation also received:
- Scalecommander: Mass Disintegrate damage bonus for each missing target reduced to 10% from 15% (Blizzard Forums)
My concern is that the 5% Disintegrate nerf on march 24th may be applying per Mass Disintegrate beam in Scalecommander, instead of only reducing the final combined single-target result by 5%.
Why this looks suspicious:
-
In cleave, Mass Disintegrate splits across up to 4 targets.
-
In single target, the spell appears to combine those beams back into one target through the missing-target scaling behavior.
-
It feels like the March 24 5% Disintegrate nerf may be getting applied to each internal beam individually, and then those reduced beams are being recombined on one target.
-
If that is happening, the effective single-target loss would be much larger than the tooltip/note implies, potentially closer to a stacked per-beam reduction rather than a flat 5% reduction to the spell’s final single-target damage.
From a player perspective, single-target Scalecommander damage feels dramatically worse after March 24 than would be expected from “Disintegrate -5%” alone, especially on top of the March 17 Mass Disintegrate missing-target nerf and the Might of the Black Dragonflight reduction. (Blizzard Forums)
I realize this could be intended tuning plus multiple overlapping nerfs, but the live result feels severe enough that it may be worth verifying whether:
-
Mass Disintegrate / Disintegrate internal beam events are each receiving the 5% nerf separately
-
the final single-target output is therefore being reduced by more than intended
I’m reporting this because Devastation has already had at least one recent Disintegrate-related issue fixed in Midnight tuning, where Blizzard noted that Disintegrate damage was much lower than intended and corrected it. (Blizzard Forums)
Please investigate whether the March 24 Disintegrate nerf is being applied correctly for Scalecommander single-target Mass Disintegrate behavior.
Thank you.

I read on wowhead that more nerfs to devoker are likely coming, around a 5% nerf.
I guess some extreme high end players are considered too strong so everyone gets to suffer.
That would be very unfortunate since they are not as strong as a handful of other classes at the top now even at the highest level.
The top 1% of players are holding their own now but looks like the majority will be affected the most after blizzard is done. Time to prep something else for dps and go Pres.

If you need something to be op to do well I don’t know what to tell you, but they could nerf devastation more and it would still likely be in the top 5 in most current raid encounters and still plenty capable in m+.
Even at middle of the pack, that’s literally the definition of balanced. Rerolling because the class is balanced without being in the aforementioned 1% who are by your admission already blasting is a strangely hyperbolic reaction to reasonable tuning.
Devastation is the top DPS spec in normal from 30th percentile up to 95th. It’s losing to mm Hunter at 99th.
It’s not just a 1% skill thing, that’s the lion’s share of the parses all dominated by dev.
Hmmm, it feels too early to tell that for sure at week 2 and before most people have their full tier and bis, but I guess we’ll see what they do.
yes this is what it felt like versing eg Lightblinded vanguard, perfect cleave oppertunity but it felt weak.
Please blizzard could we get a comfirmation on this. or revert those changes feeling left in the dust from other dps classes because of it.
Well to be fair logs were not reset after the changes so this at best bad data to be using.
I’m mostly referring to and the entire point of the post is the change myself and others noticed to single target after the patch which is why I’m asking for further investigation to double check its working as expected. If it is then great.
To your other points Aug has replaced dev in the race which perception is everything to a community and the best of the best are not using it. If dev was as strong as you claim it most certainly would be in on a 3 boss cleave in the race which scale commander should be one of the top, however it has been replaced. So that argument is essentially null and void.
Needless to say we will see where the cards fall when more gear comes in and mythic progression for the masses has developed more data to be analyzed.
appreciate your response
Probably not anything of importance related to this thread’s issue, but I saw something in the new PTR added icons that caught my eye:
Seems to be a new icon for Mass Disintegration? The ones we have today (both hero talent and buff) are different.
I suppose they made this to change Disintegration icon with the proc? If so, maybe they’d be kind enough to look up this bug.
