Context is all well and good, but waiting for context hasn’t exactly served any of us who follow the story and lore very well over the last… four years or so. While what we have right now is sparse and I certainly get the reasoning, it’s just another weird smack, and it again feels like they can’t give Night Elves any sort of ‘win’ without it costing something.
Also bringing Ysera back is a strange play because of how they’ve been building up Merithra. Unless we mistook the loading screen, that’s her there and not Ysera, so it’s very odd. Granted, this could just be their way of cleaning up the mess in Shadowlands when they decided to make a super Emerald Dream instead of just adhering to their prior lore. Ysera had the chance to come back normally, like any of the Wild Gods her realm cared for, via the Dream, but then they did the Big Retcon.
