Overall loving DF. Some aspects I don’t care about like crafting, pvp or raids, but I have loved all of the quests, and the random things to do. The world events I find kind of boring, trying to slowly get through the excavation or whatever it’s called event, just to get the mogs and mount stuff, but overall I find it tedious and boring.
I have loved dragonriding and the customizations made it perfect, SOOOO much better than something like zereth mortis where you “craft” the same mounts over and over with slightly different colors. I did like ZM as a zone though, just sayin
I also didn’t hate Plunderstorm as much as I thought I would, considering I don’t care for pvp. Honestly as long as I didn’t die within the first minute from an NPC or another person, it was kind of fun, and the rewards are pretty cool, althoughhhhh, I’d really like them to make the parrot(and raven, and cloud serpent) mounts able to land please and not flap neverending.
Anyway, long story short, I love dragons, this has ben a good expansion to me overall, for what I like to do.
My only real disappointments with DF were Fyrrak’s lack of a death-scene (he really deserved one!) and the placement of that dragon head symbol on the world map which actually blocks a quest mark during the end of the Emerald Dream quest line.
I know there’s a lot of people who are unsatisfied with the Awakened Season 4, but I am absolutely chomping at the bits to get back into Vault. Maybe it’s because it’s the first ever current content raid I’ve done, maybe it’s because Raszageth (definitely not because of Dathea), but it’s my favorite raid of the expansion. So I’m glad I get to experience as a form of current ‘tier’ one last time.
I agree OP, I’m also really happy to see more casual, cute, feminine, and fun cosmetics being available from various sources. Not to mention all the content that is available and on the way, very much looking forward to. Plus appreciate the much improved communication from the Devs.
I found DF to be solidly “okay”. None of it blew me away, but none of it made me walk away in disgust, either. I found the bits I did to be decent enough, but nothing made me want to go any deeper.
The story was a mess, but it’s an MMO, that’s par for the course. I feel like I can point at the Bronze/Infinite stuff and say I found that fairly interesting, but nothing else made me want to know more.
Questing was fine. I appreciated having the zones close and the travel time cut down by dragonriding. The mechanic itself didn’t do much for me (I’ve played plenty of Guild Wars 2, actively controlling a mount’s movement is nothing new to me), but it beat SL’s tedious wormhole trips by a country mile.
Still not into M+. I have to conclude that no class or spec is going to magically make that something I enjoy, not even Augvoker, which seems to have been designed specifically to get me back into dungeons. On the other extreme, I can’t say I care about follower dungeons, either, though having them (and M+) does me no harm.
All in all, a decent expansion. Wouldn’t dodge it, wouldn’t chase it down.
Professions are worse than ever, though. Complication for the sake of complication is never fun.
