To differentiate from Northrend Dalaran, most likely.

I still have fond memories of when the Portal Room was introduced back in 8.1.5, it was the cause of one of The Top Two of the Greatest General Discussion Temper Tantrums of All–Time.

#2 was of course The Great Water-Strider Meltdown.

Because you have a hearthstone to dalaran ?
Past that yeah it’s silly. Same with that Panda portal that goes to jade forest for ‘reasons’ instead of at the faction hubs.

The original portal was to Dalaran. I forget which patch, when they re-did the portal room, they changed the portal to go to Azsuna instead.

That was the stupidest change in that time that it happened.
That place was super convenient, they had mages there for fantasy so it could explain the portals there but the devs had a different vision it seems.

You can’t have two different portals in the same room to the same city that happens to be in two different locations.

Portals shrink the game world and make everything feel more like a chore. I’ve never felt more annoyed with the game since they started with this portal room.

Let me actually explore the world and gain an appreciation for adventuring and the distance between locations. I’d love it if they added the ocean and had us pilot boats we build with guild mates to other continents or better yet let guild build ships and hire NPCs to take people across the sea letting us chose when and where to build our harbors

I rather have more portals all around connecting our main hubs or just a npc mage to speak too that could help us travel, because it felt like I had more options to choose wherever I wanted to keep my hearthstone with more portals. Having the hearthstone to dalaran does help but that’s just one place. It’s stupid but I really do believe they changed it so that it takes longer to travel.

Before everything was condensed to the main faction cities, the portals were being thinned out in a way after the current expansion was done that resulted in us taking complex routes from one city to another to get to the area that has the portal to where we wanted to go to begin with. It was like they were trying to funnel us all into the new expansion hub like animals. Lol

That was the main issue I think, and instead of giving us more portals to shorten our travel time they got rid of a lot of the convenience the portals offered.

Their solution was “just get rid of everything” basically.

I said to travel quickly when others are waiting on you and to explore on your own time.
Are you suggesting that you don’t have any free time?
