Guys it’s been what 3 days since the split? Even now people that stayed in Classic Era are starting to re-organize and reform. It’s not all doom and gloom. Like others have mentioned here and in other threads, new guilds are forming and people are starting to run some raids. Sure not as many as before but things are getting sorted out.
Yinde, I’m in your guild. This isn’t doom and goom. Its drawing attention to a larger problem. It is constructive dialogue that needs to be addressed.
Its fun running 5 mans, but we are still extremely under manned. This server does not have a functioning economy because there are too few people playing. Better to be addressed now that 2 months from now.
I contest that it is actually doom and gloom. Huge swaths of players went to TBCC and that’s going to take months to consume that content… and, at which point, many of which will very likely be attached to it and won’t come back to Classic.
I hade a mid-level Priest on Bloodsail pre-TBCC and couldn’t find a 5-Man group for anything… everyone was just paying for boosts, it’s an absolute ghost town now – across all servers.
Needs a server merge, badly. It wouldn’t surprise me if Classic ends up just collapsing down to a single server. The concurrent players right now is unsustainable for even a month. Those players either jump to TBCC / Retail or retire.
I’m sure this isn’t news to Blizzard and they’re probably already thinking about “wtf do we do?” – part of that thinking is probably waiting to see how the dust settles when TBCC actually releases and what % of players go back to pure Classic… it’s a gamble to do so, as Classic is just unplayable on any server for group content.
But, on a business side of things, the incredibly low concurrency numbers doesn’t exactly provide a monetary incentive to do anything - if people unsub then they unsub. Probably wouldn’t even register on a quarterly earnings call with the #'s I’ve seen playing on Classic =X
You right but u forgot about trust, if they just let vanilla classic die without even trying to fix it soon or properly i wont trust the company anymore, and i’ll probably avoid their producits in the future, the same can be said for the TBC crowd, once WotLK comes out, the ones who wants TBC era, will they trust the company knowing what happened to vanilla before? in the end even the ones that weren’t part of it will remember that the company is not trustable
We’re fine depending on which server cluster you’re a part of.
Bloodsail isn’t part of a cluster, that’s my point. Need a merger.
And, I like that it’s not merged.
No, we do not. We don’t need to be hitting up the Raids, IMMEDIATELY. We have a good population where we have levelers, people helping out with Professions and Quests. We’re good with getting dungeons cleared with a mix of carries and “actual” groups. I just did a BRD. What you need to do is join a Guild, and I’ve been advertising “The Unyielding” for days. I’m one of the officers of that guild, and we’re at 150+ Members, slowly but surely we’ll hit 200 Members.
Join the BB Alliance Guild!
I just posted an idea to offer cross realm dungeon finder and raid finder options but I think they way they decided to do this it alienated the server.
I mean why charge folks to have a copy…IF you want them to play your game the are already paying monthly to access.
Seems to me Blizzard hopes to prove a point but sadly no one asked to be charged to play classic and many would also like to experience TBC
God, I hope not.
I don’t feel “alienated”, I feel awesome! I don’t want to play Classic with Connected Realms, and I’m thankful BB is free from that.
'Cause they want people to choose.
Piper, its Airboss.
Blizzard moves slow, so by the time this gets to their desk it’ll be time for raiding. I’m all for close knit community so trust me when I say, we will need this at some point soon.
And, I don’t think we (BB) do. I love you, but we don’t need it. We’re doing amazing without it. We’ll hit up Raids, soon ![]()
I have all my toons on Bloodsail
It was a great server in its prime, unfortunately the numbers are just too small to support raiding at the moment
Small guilds are popping up on the server. However, going from raiding every week to essentially a dead server (1 person in Winterspring all day) is fairly depressing to see
I think a merger would be good for the community.
I do understand the fact that eventually some raids will happen. What I’m worried about is that without mergers, a lot of players that only want to raid will just server transfer. Killing the player base of not just BB but all the RP realms even further[quote=“Alprx-stormrage, post:1, topic:971480, full:true”]
Hello,
I am one of the few people who decided to stay on Classic. I have noticed the extremely low realm population on Bloodsail due to it not being merged with other realms. Can you please reconsider keeping it isolated? Because at this rate the server will not be able to do anything other than 5 man content. There have been less than 40 people online throughout the entire 2 days its been active, and myself and friends are concerned it will stay dead for the remainder of the year.
TBH, those who can’t hack being a little patient, I probably don’t want to associate with them, anyway. I don’t mean to be rude about this, but I don’t see anyone else making the effort to recruit than just me (and one other person). I’m not complaining about it because I went into this knowing not everyone wants to make the effort to recruit. Nothing is going to happen if we stand around and do nothing. No matter how much we’re merged, if nobody is recruiting, you’ll end up with the same “problem”.
We’re doing fine without being merged because I’m (and the other person) going out and recruiting and talking to people. We’re sitting at 200+ members today, unmerged because of it. And, I’m (and the other person) not going to stop.
EDIT: I keep seeing more and more people in SW, than I have, since this all started. I’m going to keep spreading the word about BB Alliance and show that we don’t need to be “connected”, in order to be a successful server.
Just like Skeram Alliance (before the Server Split) didn’t need to transfer into a more populated Alliance Server, just to Raid. They still ended up Raiding, as Alliance, despite being the minority faction, of the Server. We can do it, too. It’s just going to take time.
and that is 100% your opinion. However, it seems as if others are interested in a merger as well.
IK, and at this point, if people want off, they’re free to go. They’re free to transfer off to Servers that are “connected”. I like having a Server that isn’t “connected”, and I’d like to stay here and keep it that way.
The problem is they are not free to go, there are no free character transfers so ultimately they are trapped here until they bite the bullet and pay to transfer or just wait.
I understand your point in liking a server like this, I don’t mind not having competition for firewater in winterspring. However, I feel bad for the player base in bloodsail that just want to do end game content and something should be done
I personally started a guild on bloodsail but then merged into The Unyielding so we wouldn’t take away from any of the player base left on the server
This is me just being mean, but I think people should pay, if they don’t want to help invest in building the community and just want a “free” escape.
But, Skeram Alliance survived even with free transfers and being the minorty faction with similar population (maybe even less) than what BB is seeing, right now.
That’s fair and gracious of you. I just think it’s going to take time to get there and requires patience to achieve. I do believe BB will get there, just not right now.
I don’t think you’re really “taking away” from anything. I hardly see you on, anyway. I’m on pretty frequently, and if anything I’m probably the one “taking away” from other guilds trying to build their own establishment lol
On all the time farming that cave lol. Anyway’s I personally hope something is done with the server. Whether it be a merger, flat out telling us they will never merge RP realms, free server transfers, whatever. Just would like some clarification but I’m sure once the TBC hype goes down Blizzard will start working on more server stuff and monitoring
Nope. RP isn’t getting merged. That’s non negotiable (I sure hope).
For like a minute or two LOL
I vote free transfer off, for those who don’t want to stay and help build the community. I don’t want it merged.
