Polls should remain under the purview of the Blizzard team… player-initiated polls are easily skewed by bad choices, in which case the results are meaningless but players that “like” the result will scream “but look proof the majority wants XYZ!!1!” when the majority don’t even participate on the forums. There’s a statistical background to creating a good poll and forum users can’t be trusted to learn and only post good polls.
Having said that, a bad poll is just like a bad forum topic… easily ignored, so I guess in the end I don’t care because Blizz isn’t going to use player-initiated poll results (unless they think a good set of orthogonal choices were constructed for a question that’s relevant to the dev team).

Unless they put resources into the system so they make only 1 vote per account and not 1 vote per character it should be “alright”.
The accounts need to be active in order to vote though…

I want a poll option. It would be fun and helpful to see how popular or unpopular player-suggested solutions to game problems would be.

I wouldn’t care about player polls and I’m sure some people could make fun polls and then you could discuss, etc.
Like what’s your favorite pet or whatever. Oh how fun and cutesy that would be.
The main issue I see is that I know people would try to use those polls as empirical infallible data which would be silly.

Reminds me of the M+ poll where they asked what players wanted for a season of SL dungeons, pretty sure folks trolled hard and voted Grimrail Depot.
People that don’t even do M+ came out of the woodwork to vote.
Not because it’d make a good M+ dungeon, but because of choo-choo memes lol.

It didn’t go too great, lol. Mostly M+ players complaining about Grimrail.
