A ranger. Clearly people want more ranged physical damaged DPS classes or Hunters wouldn’t be so popular.

I think that’s the reason the made SV to melee.

The logic: “Too many people are playing this class. Lets make it worse so fewer people play it.”

The logic should be: “Too many people are playing this class. We should create another class those players like.”

I would hate to be Ion’s kid. All stick, no carrot.

I immediately thought of the possibility of Kalecgos revamping the remnant of the Blue Dragonflight into something akin to the Rangers of Lord of the Rings fame, with that magical flair of course.

Because it doesn’t provide any themes not already present.

Besides, what most people want is the dead elf bod, winch we wouldn’t get with a new class anyways.

Nobody cares. The fact they are high elves was just a Sylvanas thing. Dark Rangers started putting humans, nelves and Forsaken in their ranks much later. Like Death Knights, I’m pretty sure any race could be Dark Rangers.

Yes. They’re called forsaken hunters. That’s explicitly the reason Forsaken got hunters in Cataclysim.

Dark Rangers are not Hunters. They have completely different abilities.

The Stans just want to role-play as Sylvanas. It doesn’t matter if it’s available only for one faction or the other. Even if it’s restricted to female elves only, or if it’s only for a new race of undead female elves, in their own faction, that they won’t be able to do any Mythic content on because the only class that exists in that faction is Dark Ranger.

The Stans just want to worship the booty. It’s all that matters in Warcraft.

I want them to take their time, not tie it to an expansion (because I’d rather it be good, not relevant) and find a ranged class that is a clothie, and a bit more mobile.

We need a new ranged class and I would love for it to be a Death or Light caster.

I really hope you’re not talking about me for several reasons. I’m asking because I’m the only one that’s arguing with Phynch about Dark Rangers.

Let’s go with another reason:

Remember BfA? Remember Darkshore? Hell, do you remember an NPC named “Nathanos?”

Sylvanas also raised Night Elves to be Dark Rangers. Humans too. There’s no reason they couldn’t go Alliance.

But this is besides the point! I really don’t care what ranged-physical class is added. It’s the first thing I said in this thread. I was just disagreeing with Phynch because Hunters are not Dark Rangers. if anything, they are Death Knight/Rogue crosses.

Sylvanas isn’t a class. She’s not “the Dark Ranger”. There are Dark Rangers right now in the game that walk around and have hunter abilities. They’re literally called Dark Rangers.

A Dark Ranger is just a Marksman Hunter that occasionally uses their pet losing out on their Lone Wolf perk, that happens to be undead and gothic.

Even Nathanos, as a Dark Ranger himself, uses hunter abilities. Sylvanas and Anduin don’t represent Hunters and Priests even though both of them have cool abilities and other capabilities that aren’t restricted by their class. Dark Rangers are just Hunters.

Sylvanas is a Banshee, not a Forsaken, so her race is why she does the shadow stuff. That’s why the other Dark Rangers can’t because they’re just Dark Rangers, a name for a troop type of Marksman Hunters associated with Undead.

Dragonsworn: Really vague, but presumably relates to dragons. Personally I think the class should just be straight up dragons, but I didn’t make the poll.

Tinker: Fights with technology, explosives, and powered armor.

Necromancer: Death knights, but with cloth.

Bard: Kicks @$$ with the power of Rock. And probably other genres too.

Dark Ranger: Literally just forsaken hunters, but elves instead of humans.

Alchemist: Like tinker but with chemistry instead of engineering. Could potentially be a Tinker spec.

Other: This is just so people can suggest their own options.

dark ranger, every other listed class is either in or wouldn’t work at this point.

Alchs and tinkers feel tough to do due to the professions, how do you handle the class without slapping the prof in the face.

Dragon sworn is meh.

bard is a maybe, but what would they bring that we dont already have?

necros don’t make any sense we have locks and dk’s that are already.

Ranger and bard are the only 2 that make sense

To add onto this, I think the original Blizzcon where WoW was announced they had necros as a listed class but they changed it to Warlocks so it wouldn’t be such a copy and paste of EverQuest.

However, Warlocks still have classic Necro spells. Life Tap, Underwater Breathing, Fear, etc.
