Kronos was better script wise hands down.
Better late than never Kaivax. Now release a fresh realm with no CRBGs and perhaps Iâll stick around.
What it truly boils down to, is that it is horribly damaging to a MMOâs integrity.
Edit: this thread should probably be pinned, no?
This change wonât stop that from happening.
They didnt eliminate multiboxing. Plus, the botters and gold sellers supposedly targeted by this action have already posted hardware solutions to circumvent this change so thereâs going to be minimal impact on solving the problems people have been complaining about.
It has to start somewhere. Let those who this targeted move on to the alternatives, make it apparent that those mechanics too need a good doing away with. IMHO, Blizzard should have simply made a blanket ban on MBing, and enforce the most egregious examples of it (that being keycloning).
The problem is that players like me who were just playing a couple of characters to quest and do dungeons have been lumped in with with the people who were actually botting.
It is so much fun to simultaneously play a couple of characters to experiment with their class synergies or trying to avoid a potential wipe in a dungeon. Running SM Cath as both the tank and the healer is 10 times more fun than just playing a single role. Now that fun has been turned into alt-tabâing tedium while the actual cheaters adjust and continue on their way.
Game integrity is game integrity, regardless of the level of damage done by a certain âplaystyleâ. If a single player was intended to have the power of several characters, then characters would not have been originally designed as they were. Personally I do not see it being âlumped inâ with botting, unless you were using said multi-character keycloning. One press of a button should NEVER have been accepted in regard to causing multiple characters to act simultaneously as one.
Alt tabbing? Have at it.
âActual cheatersâ? Seriously, dude?
Agree this was a problem in retail where multiple people could mine a node or pick a herb. But in classic I did not see this as a problem. I used this software to assist my guild in getting world buffs faster and easier by having 3 locks park at Dire maul, song flower, DMF, AQ and BWL to summon raids for raid night to save time. How is that betting or cheating, if was an quality of life software not a cheating software.
Every multiboxer is going to come here and say they only multiboxxed in the most benign way. Most of them will be lying. Blizzard saw a problem. They came up with a solution that did something to deal with the problem. Blizzard canât make a game that takes into account every individual player. At best youâre one of a small number of people who arenât part of the problem who are collateral damage in a solution that mostly affects those who are part of the problem. And thatâs just how a game with this many people has to be run.
Multiboxers have a much larger impact on classic wow as well. While you may be someone that just uses the software to summon people, others use the software to constantly run dungeons and mass farm valuable resources and raw gold that have a large impact on the economy. The software is also commonly used by âbot teamsâ in instances as well. If you go outside of UBRS on some servers, you can constantly see teams of 1 priest and 4 mages coming in and out.
Game integrity and cheating are defined by Blizzard. Actual cheaters are the players who were actually violating Blizzards ToS. You may not like multiboxing or the use of keystroke broadcasters but that didnât make it cheating.
As someone who just wanted to have a fun hobby and enjoy a more interesting way of playing WoW, seeing so many players turn this into an argument about personal integrity is frustrating.
you are kidding right this is just a guess from you because ive come across 2 multiboxers on retail in like 3 years while out in the world and classic most multiboxers you donât even see because they are in instances then you get the rare few that try to fight raids no ones calculating sub losses from multiboxers in some basement somewhere
They said the same thing about instance lockouts and daily instance caps, the main problem is if people donât like something they complain until it is removed of changed, take a look at retail and how that turned out.
People complained that finding groups was to hard so we got the dungeon group finder and the LFR tool, the result from that it killed the community as there was no need anymore to talk to other players or make friends to get groups, because you could now just click a tool and get groups with random where there is lucky to be 10words spoke in the 10-15min instance.
Then people complained it was to hard to make gold and you needed to farm none stop to make any gold, so the fix was daily world quest to make steady gold. The result from that is many players gold capped on several characters and the cost of items on the AH went through the roof, as gold was now easy to make and get.
The end of the day they are heading down the same road they did with wow the first time around, they are bending to the wim of players that donât like one thing and screwing over those that do enjoy a give play style.
And making multiboxxing banable only hurts the people that used it for there enjoyment. It will not fix the botting issue just like the daily instance lock did not fix the problem. The botters will just adapt a different method to keep going.
If they wanted to fix the betting problem all they need to do is be more proactive in monitoring game play activities, even bring the wow token to classic, if you can just buy a token and sell it on the AH for gold then the gold selling website lose there method of making money.
multiboxxing took away from MY enjoyment. Nobody likes getting 1 shot by 10 boomkins controlled by 1 player. So⌠bye. No one likes multiboxxers.
Awesome. This not being bannable from the get go was always a head scratcher. Better late than never, though!
lol they âenjoyedâ it because they were 5x as powerful as all the other players
Multiboxing has a massive effect on the game, especially PVP servers.
With 5 characters you can dominate any solo farmer without anyone helping you.
With 5 characters you can solo run dungeons and farm massive amounts of high end materials, devaluing them for the players that only have one account and canât get 5x the benefit for the same time investment. Funnel them to your main character and have a massive amount of gold, which has a lower value to you, because you farm it faster, therefore inflating the market because each gold you have is worth less time investment and overpaying for items causes the prices to rise faster than usual. Increasing the time investment required for single character players to buy the same items.
With 5 characters one player occupies 5 server slots, so one character subscribers may have to wait in a queue. Some people have 10, 20, even 40 multiboxes. Occupying slots for players who wish to play the game as intended. One guy can keep and entire raid team from logging in if there is a queue, that is absurd.
With 5 characters you can have the power of 5 people, without the downsides(coordination problems etc)
The only positive to multiboxers is for the player doing the multiboxing, and blizzards wallet. Everything else is damaging to the quality of a PVP server and the game experience for everyone else.
âall mb buy argentinia game time for $2â meanwhile an entire group of 300 of us are now like wow thanks for the TIP! wish we knew this before hand. you also just told every solo player this too⌠congrats now we can all RAF a virtual Argentina friend and pay 2/month for them to funnel RAF rewards and times to mains
NOT>. fact is you knew one person so you figure people will waste time with vpns and other dumb stuff for 2dollar exploiting of blizzard⌠no ones gonna do it except 1 sad soul you knew that did do that⌠be real dont assume
I complained recently that ISBoxer does allow automation, they told me just not to use it if I felt like it was breaking ToS.
