Finally!!! Faith restored.

Understanding in a broad view how anti cheat works and how specifically its detection engines run based on source code are very different things.

Interesting the way they worded it they didn’t ban multiboxing they banned the specific input mirroring devices so it looks like that its still possible as long as you use a method that either uses another tech which would be legal or use the same tech but undetectably.

Exactly. And I cant stress this enough… This is the same company that can’t reliably ban flyhackers or teleporters or botters, all of which are MUCH less common than multiboxing. I’m placing the odds of them catching, much less suspending your average multiboxer at right around 0.0000011 (repeating of course.) If you’re Prepared and you’re running 200 accounts yea you should probably be worried. For the vast majority of people this wont affect anything however.

Only time will tell.

Correct. Multi boxing is not against ToU

just saying, if i was a multi boxer and streaming/ making irl money from streaming, and you went and changed your rules after being so strong about #nochanges. i would be inclined to get an attorney involved and get a settlement check!!! they have allowed multi boxing for years and the countless posts about how it isnt breaking terms of service. i dont have a dog in this fight, but i did really enjoy watching nohitjerome! thanks blizz for saying 1 thing and then doing another. LOLOLOLOLOL

Settlement check for playing a video game and abiding by blizzards new terms and services?
are you ok? its their game and they dont want the negative impacts of multi boxing affect the customers that do not multi box. They have weighed the pros and cons before implementing it and over time its cons are much greater than the pros ($$ and solo play). Kind of disgusting to even consider legal action over a video game change.

like i said i dont have a dog in this fight, i just really enjoyed watching nohitjorome and others. but not anymore!

I remember when Blizzard first announced that the entirety of Azeroth was going to be level scaled following the end of Legion. It legit made me wanna puke.

But alas, level scaling is now a core feature of retail and it’s never going away.

Blizzard can do what ever they want with their game. They can make any changes to destroy the economic model of streamers in their game. They could even state in the tos that streaming is against the game rules and ban any player that streams the game. Streamers would have no legal recourse

Yep. It’s a lazy, cheap way to avoid making more content.

The retail player base continues to shrink. That’s fine. Activision will run this game into the ground like it does everything else. Fortunately, there will always be private servers.

Unless it gets flagged and Bli$$ard doesn’t let you appeal. That is what worries me.

Solution: Make a Reddit post; it will garner negative attention and cause near-immediate action on the part of Blizz admin. No joke.

You mean

“A player who got 1 shot by a single player with the player power of 5+ characters using the strawman that 5 individual characters could do the same thing”

If you warn me over email, I’ll just report it as spam. It doesn’t correspond with the “Terms of Use have changed” window that used to appear when launching the client after update, so I have a valid reason to believe it’s phishing.

The last warning I’ve received was after updating to patch 6.0.2. That’s the last time Blizzard’s legal terms have changed. I’ve agreed to them and I still comply.

I just want to see that window again whenever the rules change.

Maybe Nostalrius was the genuine owner of the IP after all? And Blizzard is just a scam? Who knows? Last time we’ve had any official legal communication was when patch 6.0.2 aired. Maybe Blizzard really sold its IP to Nostalrius, and now is acting completely illegally?

this is a really good change, shows blizz actually cares about their game

let’s hope they go after bots harder now

@ all the people defending multiboxing
you’ve had your fun alright, its not for fun anymore, its just people doing it to exploit the game for gold nowadays

Best change in a long time. Multi-boxing is not good for the community.

They could on retail they would share the 1 node. If you have 10 Multiboxing toons that means x10 Ore/Herb thats a huge advantage

Its in the terms of service though:
