Policy Update for Input Broadcasting Software

Blizzard snowflakes imploding on themselves like the DemocRATic cities.

Good.

Multiboxing is horrible on PVP servers. It ruins the game when one guy can one shot you with one key press instead of requiring 4+ actual players to do the same thing. You can never out play 4000 DPS in WPVP.

i multibox to farm dungeons and vendor loot so i can afford consumables for raids every week also help the guild with food and hourglass sands off the AH. This is a direct hit to me even though i’m not affecting anyone.

This is my favorite response. What’s the difference if I did this. It’s literally the same exact thing, but now instead of hitting the key once, I’m hitting it X times.

How does this comment not put into perspective how irrelevant this policy update is. The update literally makes it more annoying to multibox, and has nothing to do with botting software. Case, and point.

Pro tip, removing multiboxxing won’t change that.

The people who think they can run their one character up to 5+ characters and win are still going to lose.

They’re not going to ban every multiboxer. They are just changing the policy so they can get rid of the problematic ones.

Yes,

But it requires the 5 players to work together, not one guy and 3 buttons. You should have to roll with real people in WPVP to have an advantage, not 4+ copies of yourself.

But from your perspective as the single player it really doesn’t matter. You lose whether it’s a multi boxxer or not.

i don’t multibox pvp so why should i be punished?

You’re missing the forest for the trees here. Multiboxing isn’t a problem, it’s never been a problem, it’s a subset minority user group that works on it, and it’s innocuous. Making it harder to multibox by removing key dispatching won’t solve the problem. The problem is botting, it says it in their policy update. The problem has always been botting, it will continue to be botting, and this update won’t fix botting.

Won’t it make it easier and faster for them to ban those 1 priest 4 mage botters in strat / st or where ever. They no longer need to prove that those farmers are botting (probably a lengthy process) they now only need to prove that they are using key cloning software. Idk, I’m just spit balling.

Yes,

But getting outplayed/outgunned by multiple REAL people is DIFFERENT than one guy hitting 2 buttons. It has nothing to do with winning or losing, its how the game is being played against you.

I don’t care if 5 of the enemy faction is coordinating to hold down a spot, or just gank, that requires people to have friends that all want to do the same thing. I do care if one guy has the power of 5 characters with extreme coordination. Its not the end result that matters, its how you got there.

Which they might not be able to do, all botters will have to do is get around whatever mechanism blizzard is using the detect key clone software.

So if it comes down to blizzard having to actively have GM’s monitor for multi boxxing, which they’ve refused to do for bots, it won’t matter.

ok so cant post more than 3 times on 1 account yall on the same thread another blizzard restraint,

i run 1 priest 4 mages runs to farm but im not botting so am i excluded?

No man, the bots aren’t even having to run in groups. They’re literally teleporting to black lotus spawns, fly hacking through ZG, pick pocketing mobs in BRD, doing DM Trib. The list goes on. There’s so many of them doing solo things, it has nothing to do with a group setup, or key dispatching software. This update is unironically better for botters, since multiboxing reports are going to shoot way downward, there will be less competition on the AH, and material costs will go up. It actually makes no sense.

The simple fact of the matter is, they can’t detect botters so they’re gone to ban anyone using key dispatching software. Even though the botting software is running automatically, and does not rely on boxing software.

I multibox with software and i’m not trying any funny bussiness that everyones complaining about if i get banned than they’ve lost my subs

I always use Paypal.

You say you have a hard time forming dungeon groups (btw, we all struggle to find groups half the time) and would just rather run them yourself.

So…serious question, why are you even playing an MMORPG? Sounds like single player games are more up your alley.

Dear Blizzard, this announcement is not clear weather it will affect only one version of the game or both live and classic.

Prior to expansions in 2005, multi boxing in wow classic was not considered against terms of service and was in someway encouraged.

Would it be prudent to assume that customer service will not take an active role with regards to multiboxing in classic?

Merry X Mas.
