Basically the title, I’m starting late just because it wasn’t really interesting to me for the most part. Since I’ve got to quarantine anyway, I figured I should get off my butt.
If you killed a rare every 20 minutes (which should be pretty slow I think) it’d take you about an hour and twenty minutes for one transmog item.
You can get a piece for like every 4-5 rares. So that’s every 50 minutes. If you want all the transmog thats 4 classes. I think some pieces aren’t learned from both sides so you may want to try on alliance to see that.
it did not take me but an hour I think or maybe a tad bit more to get the 125 commendations I needed to pick up the transmog set. Pluss I bought some pets just to have.
Get between about 25 and 45 stones a kill. 25 stones for 3 ardent commendations. 15 commendations per piece.
So 3-4 bosses. Which so 1 hr - 1 hr 20.
Edit: Forgot about 10 minutes. So 30-40 minutes with new schedule.

Thanks, I couldn’t remember if it was a little more than an hour it took me on my hunter and Dk. I know it went pretty fast just farming rares, not to mention the group finders scourgestone farming groups.
Spent all last sunday farming rares(mainly because it was raining by me) & don’t think I would have obtained them all if I didn’t do this. I would suggest camping rares, but also killing mobs close to the next spawn since they also drop the stuff you need at a fairly decent rate.
You will get a few commendations from quests, but the main way to get them is to kill the rare bosses that spawn every 10 mins in a rotation around the zone.
- Do the very fast couple of quests to start the Daily quests. You need to kill some mobs at the Argent Tourney ground mostly.
- Pick up the daily quest More Scourgestones (or something like that) from the Vendor by the Quest givers. You need to do this every day to be able to turn in the Scourgestones for Commendations. It puts a bar on your screen that fills up as you pick up scourgestones from mobs/bosses. Any already in your bag don’t count.
- KILL RARES! You get between 25 and 45ish Pitch Black Scourgestones per rare + sometimes you get a 110 item.
It takes 1,125 Pitch Black Scourgestones to get the 135 Commendations for the 9 gear items.
You can do a Rare every 10 mins so they add up fast. If I were to average the Scourgestones to 35 per boss you would need 32 ish boss kills to get enough Scourstones to get the Commendations. So, maybe 2.5 to 3 hours max? A bit more if you want the pet.
Of course you also get Commendations from quests so that speeds is up a bit.
I would use the Wowhead guide with the full explanation, list with Rare rotation and spawn times, and in the comments is a great table with the Rare drops separated by gear type so you can target one rare if you want for something specific.

should take you like 1 day only just farming the rares. i got the full set in about 1 day given i spent 20 on the pet first.
easier now too since the rares spawn every 10mins instead of 20. it’s really fast. if your horde don’t even bother imo you guys have the same set and color as the pvp one only the alliance has something different in terms it’s a different tint but same as the pvp set too.
