Yeah I just don’t have that mindset. I have never really let Blizz push me around when it comes to spec or class. I play what I enjoy. Maybe my extreme old age has a lot to do with it. Born in 65 lol. A lot of the people I played with on horde shared your mindset
However it’s kind of funny ever since I faction change to Alliance I have come across more and more people with my mindset.

Bro legit my hunter is “cowkingfury” i started clearing 15+ then in random convo with mates they accidentally dropped the knowledge that no greater gear after +M15 just upgrades, no other rewards for time sunk.
Give me something to show for my time!

Just saying I don’t think that’s what I’d view as filthy casual at all. It kinda increases the difficulty of content so how is it more casual? I mean you’re not min maxing but that’s about it. Doesn’t equal being super casual especially if what you choose to do or not do effectively makes the game harder

I guess you have a point and I don’t necessarily do m10+ on all my characters either I was simply saying that that’s my stopping point. That is my extent of end game progression in pve.
A lot of this may have to do with my own personal spot I’m at mentally. Mentally when I play World of Warcraft regardless of what I’m doing if you can picture someone sitting on a rug meditation style next to a lava lamp?
That pretty much sums up where I am mentally when I play this game and other words nothing really fazes me or upsets me

I think the one thing I heard they’re doing is adding that achievement for people doing 20s that gives you a teleport to each dungeon you complete on a 20+. Like you do ToP +20 and get a teleport to ToP.
As someone who only does low keys I think they should add something for people who do 20s. Make it a crazy appearance set called “vestments of the insane masochists”
Trust me i sunk MONTHS worth of game time into this Xpac, as i genuinely like the game & was hyped my 1st xpac since MOP.
I just think the direction of the ship is headed for the icebergs & a mutiny to stop the impending doom might be required.
A lot of people tend to treat this game like a job that they are forced to come into. They seem to somehow forget this is a service they are paying for. I was legit applauding you for realizing that you are no longer enjoying your meal therefore you’re just simply no longer going to go to that restaurant.

Also, since you said you faction changed to Alliance cause horde players had that hardcore mindset: I’m kinda doing a similar thing atm. I’m leveling a frost mage on alliance in addition to my horde one so I can switch to a more chill atmosphere.

If you’re going to play alliance and you want competent people to progress with while at the same time still being able to enjoy the game?
I highly suggest the stormrage server it’s the highest popolion server in the game that’s not an oceanic Realm. Hell people on Stormrage a lot of the times for mythic keys recruit from tradechat if that tells you anything
I think what I want is really just one group of people to do stuff with. I’m ooookay with pigging but I know I could progress more if I had some people I actually like that I chill in voice with to do m+ with. Or raid. Or learn to PvP.
I feel like I always either meet people who want to pressure me into them letting carry me through a 14 when I’m stuck at 6-8 and want to actually do the content myself and progress slowly or people who don’t like m+ at all. And I’m kind of in the middle of those two groups. I don’t want to focus on pushing keys but I still wanna get 4 or so done over the week and progress slowly.

Man even many of the conduit choices are a dam joke, i look at them & wish i could see the % of what conduits players run.
Viable choice means giving the player viable options to chose from.

Make a trial character on stormrage (template toon) and talk to people you may find that server very much feels like home like it did to me.
On alliance side I have noticed a complete lack of pressure to do things. People just seem a lot more relaxed. Maybe it’s just the server but people seem to have the opposite mindset of what I encountered on Area 52 horde.
The alliance are much more accepting and more forgiving when you screw up. Basically a lot less toxicness and rage

I’m mostly annoyed with the conversations that go “I have a Halls 6” “I’ll bring you into my ToP 15!!!” followed with 20 minutes of pressuring me and me trying to explain that I don’t enjoy getting carried and being dead throughout an entire instance.

You can’t use four letter words - even if you use * to conceal them. I got a suspension for that before. If you still can, change that part of your post to avoid the suspension.

Ion hates fun roflstomping though.
He’s said on multiple occasions (especially when defending ilvl scaling) that overpowering content is “not fun” (spoiler: YES IT DAMN WELL IS).
And his refusal to fix Legion scaling - and saying that people will be able to do it “by the end of the expansion” - is yet another example of this.
The absolute gutting of the vendor value of loot from old raids is yet another example.
Torghast, the way it was when we were watching streamers doing it in alpha, looked like balls-out FUN.
So of course it had to get nerfed down into a chore, and now molded into Yet Another E-Peen Challenge, complete with timers and negative “affixes” that NOBODY wants.

I feel you I was about ready to quit the game until someone talked me into trying Alliance. It renewed my love for the game.
Here is just an example for what I mean by two different mindsets. On Area 52 I was constantly called a fool and questioned more times than I can count why I picked Venthyr on my Warlock.
However on stormrage many people have understood why I picked it. I have even gotten comments like “Hey Man story and lore wise it completely makes sense.” In my own personal experience horde tend to be more hardcore and alliance tend to play the game more for fun.
