The fact that the emergent strategy of dropping in and getting the bounty done and suiciding is the best strategy is just shameful. Since only level 9 and 10 characters drop enough plunder to outweigh just restarting and going for the captain’s bounty there is basically no incentive to preform at all. Its not even close either.
i agree make level 1s drop crazy plunder
everyone who would hate this is already seething might as well make it easier for the people who are actually playing the PvP
It’s not the best strategy. The best strategy is to play the game.
If you’re talking about cheesing your way to renown 40 then sure but let’s not call that strat something it’s not.
That’s just for cheesing or scumbagging renown, not actually winning
Going for kills early isn’t the correct way to win the game either. It shouldn’t be incentivised any further than it has been.
Rofl what? That makes no sense. You get spells, exp and plunder for killing someone

Plus, if you don’t think taking competition out early in a BR is “correct”, I question your definition of BR.
Yeah but npcs are better/safer
Yeah but renown grinders aren’t going to defend themselves, I don’t blame people for taking them out.
I disagree. The best strategy is just to stay alive as long as possible and get as much loot as possible. It’s frustrating to die to other players constantly, but looting is the reward, not the K/D ratio.
It takes time, a lot of time, to kill someone who doesn’t want you to kill them. Especially if neither of you have any real abilities yet.
Most BRs don’t have experience. Taking out players when it has no opportunity cost absolutely makes sense, chasing people when you could be grinding levels does not if you wanna win.
And it’s worse if they were lucky enough to find more loot and level up faster than you. That makes them stronger and healtier than you.
Yeah I can see the advantage of taking someone out at level one over waiting until they’re level ten.
But hey, you do you, fam.
You can’t see it, but my head is on my desk trying to cope with just how out of touch with reality this comment is. If this is correct then please just change the name of the game mode to Pittancestorm because I just can’t even anymore with these people.
If it takes me a full minute of not hitting anything? Probably not.
If there’s someone next to me I’ll engage them, see what they wanna do, but if they wanna run I’ll let them. Means I have the place to myself and can get to level 6 before most people are level 4.
Well, now you’re kind of moving the goal posts a bit. I never suggested that chasing someone across the map for 20 minutes was a good strat. I was responding to this original statement:
This is wrong. There is an advantage to killing people early. Maybe they picked up a spell or plunder you were after. Maybe they’re low health and it’s a player that usually last the entire match.
I was never talking about chasing people.
Valid, though when it comes to the majority of these conversations people are complaining about being killed before they complete their quests so I was mostly speaking about that time period.
I’ve had some early fights but they haven’t been hugely common, usually fighting starts around levels 4-5. I usually just get a good landing spot and grind to level 7~ then go and mop up the fighters.
Yeah that’s happened to me a lot, usually with the collect two items quests, but I don’t see it as a big deal.
I did sign up for a BR game and I can’t expect players not to kill me if they see an opening ![]()
I’ve had some games where I leave my landing zone level 8 and walk around and see level 4s dueling eachother. It’s honestly kind of ridiciulous how inefficient some people are.
I’ve had both and is why I detest PvP in this game.
Had one where all he did was chase me around for 4 mins only attacking after I engage a rare and had another one go after me in the first 5 secs.
Guess I am the odd one out and I prefer a fair match. I let them heal up to full before engaging.
To be honest, they should add a Parlay feature that increases plunder from the dead player if they accept the terms and let them heal up to full before engaging.
Focusing on efficiency in every video game sounds awful.
Fighting other players in the area to me is a thousand times more fun than a boring mob grind even if I die.
I kill mobs when I land, but if I see someone close I’m attacking. I won’t chase forever because Blizz made it so easy to run, but I’m not sitting at my PvE area thinking about how efficient I’m being while bored out of my mind.
Speaking of boring, the legendary finally dropped this week for my DK, and my god whoever decided the first part of the chain should be grinding the most boring stuff in the game should be…
