That is the fun.
I keep getting one-shotted at very start of the game. I was fortunate to get a couple good powers in the first minute of my 2nd match, and some other player was so powerful, they ganked me in one-hit. This was while I was in fiery-whirlwind mode going over them and they appeared immune to it. 
I think it’s more fun than the arena in this game right now
I’ve been grinding plunder every so often. Still not a fan but it’s at least tolerable now. The renown track was honestly the worst part about it the first time around. Now I can hop in, usually snag anywhere from 500-1k before someone kills me, and then I move on to the next match. And with the Plunderstore, it always feels like progress.
I will begrudgingly give Blizzard credit for making some improvements that made the experience a little less painful this time around. The best of which is respawning mobs so you can continue to gain exp and gather plunder throughout the match. I was able to end most games with 1k to 1500 plunder and over 2k for a win. This made getting the new items much less of a hassle than the first iteration. Having said that, I’m glad to be done with it again.
