Plunderstorm, Good or Bad?

It was okay. I had fun for a while. The last 5-10 levels or so I was just hoping it would be done soon.

it’s not good.

but it’s definitely not nearly as bad as people make it out to be.

also it makes pvers mad so that’s fun.

I think it is fun, but am only going in a couple of times a day.

I only played it once and I was killed within 2-3 minutes.

Not sure if Bellular YouTube video would be a guess at actual numbers (speculation around 7 million players), but the fact that fewer players are currently playing (verse recent previous expansions), and they have multiple game modes available to them makes me feel that Dragon Flight alone isn’t as popular as a few previous expansions.

Classic, Burning Crusades, Wrath of the Lich King, Dragon Flight, Plunder storm. So, 5 different game modes all active at the same time and all the players are lumped into one metric makes me ask how many people are playing each mode. And looking at his graph, we can see that it does have fewer players then before 4 of those other game modes was playable.

And some people need to juggle forum alts to create the illusion of discussion about their original topics.

Extended maintence Cause plunderstorm

People are upset because;

FOMO and it’s pvp with a large gri d attached to it.

No one also asked or wanted this event, and when it comes to pirates… the event makes 0 sense as pirates don’t act like this, not even close. It is pirate themed only skin deep, while the soul is fortnite.

my main worry is it will end too soon.

no, its not fun. but its not like i have spent enough time to “get good”

closest thing to fun was getting away with 5% hp left and then managing to get just the right abilities to swipe a few killing blows while playing hide and go seek with a player who some how had like 3 levels higher than me. they had damage but i had a bunch of mobility and some rocks and trees to run around.

would prob be more fun as a fps but its basically a melee version of that.

never mind being un able to figure out how two lvl 1s with no extra abilities are not dealing about the same damage. its like most my attacks dont hit? how much does latency play a role in this? is 100 latency too much?

but in any case as long as it lasts long enough and there is no daily cap, the rewards are worth the grind i guess. :dracthyr_shrug:

Because people pay $15 a month in advance for developers to make future content for them. When the future content is something they dislike, they get understandably upset and feel like their money wasn’t well-spent. Additionally, when unattractive content gates a bunch of cosmetic rewards, players get more upset.

Plunderstorm was never going to appeal to most of WoW’s playerbase. Not just because it’s PvP, but because it doesn’t even use WoW’s combat system and FFA is the most brutal form of PvP there is (no teams to carry you.) I personally love PvP, but I don’t like PS as a game mode due to the RNG elements and lack of abilities.

I think most of the blowback from PS’s reception was from people that wanted the cosmetic rewards but didn’t have a way to actually access them in WoW itself. What’s worse is PS was marketed as a WoW patch, but there was virtually no updates or new rewards introduced to the base game.

Plunderstorm’s only crime was having desirable collectibles.

It’s a silly Battle Royale game mode that’ll be a temporary event every now and then.

The renown grind is a slog for both PvP and PvE players considering it’s purely for cosmetics, and even then… even my casual self got it unlocked in like two and a half days of half-focused grinding.

The WoW community, myself included, is incredibly cringe about it.

This is going to sound weird, but I hated Plunderstorm and think that it’s excellent.

It’s a solid PvP game that’s pretty well-balanced and has pretty good replayability. I’m biased because I don’t like PvP and hate FOMO. As such overall I’d give it an B+.

In conclusion, plunderstorm is a world of contrasts

It’s not weird, it’s how an adult thinks.

I found it different. Kind of felt like it could have been added as a new battleground map rather than a seperate mini game.

It didn’t really appeal to me as I’m not a pvp fan, but I appreciate the effort.

Its nothing to get rattled about, don’t like it, don’t do it.

According to many
When you have a bad product that customers are paying for and have requested it to be fixed

And the company turns around and offers another bad product

The optics are bad

BlizZard doesn’t know how to communicate with their customers so they resort to focus feedback groups that are not part of their sphere aka play their game.

:surfing_woman: :man_surfing:

Know what “optics” Blizzard is getting?

Less than a 1 minute queue time, which means people are doing it. Wanna talking about optics, them optics say people are eating up PS.

Sure so blizzard is jumping over a dollar to get the penny.

10’s of 10’ s like plunder ( penny) millions want game improvements ( dollar)
