Please try another realm besides Whitemane/Herod/Faerlina

There are so many realms, some that don’t even have ques or have very short ones compared to the giant realms. You’re gonna log in and find all the people who managed to get on launch are 20+ levels ahead of you. The que isn’t gonna stop for at least 2 weeks and you guys are the reason.

You don’t have to only play on mega pop servers. Blizz opened all these other realms to help spread out the pop so that everyone could play day 1 but still 80% of the playerbase is choosing to wait in que to play all day long to play on the top servers. Why?

because a lot of those new servers will be ghost towns in three months. Not all of them, but a good chunk.
Id rather wait it out and know ill be on a healthy server down the road

If you think I’m abandoning my waifu whitemane that I paid to reserve my names on weeks prior for a queue you’re having a laugh mate.

This isn’t entirely true if people actually switched, however most won’t because they are attached to their names. Plain and simple.

Ppl care too much about names. Like really? “Fire” isn’t a real name
Neither is Sacred

Chicken egg problem

I’m more attached to the server I feel will stand the test of time. I can get my names on any server

I disagree they’ll be ghost servers. But if they are… it’ll be because of people like you.

Or Stalagg, Skerum, Incendius… Basically all the PvP servers have a 2 hour queue time except the very latest batch. Any PvP server that wasn’t created after launch has huge queues.

Most of us have FRIENDS - it’s not as simple as me going by myself to another server. I have to get 20+ other people to do it too - not gonna happen.

So our issue is we have ~80 people in our guild and about 650 people total in a multi guild group (all horde). We did our research and settled on herod when we had 3 choices. We had 3 guilds (about 200 people in total) move to stalagg when it was announced. And another (about 40 people) move to Skarem, we lost some more that were not planning to raid (casual/pvpers) to Incendius as well. Of the 350 that are left about half have been playing since yesterday. We’ve already broken our community into 4 parts, all 4 of those servers have stupid queues, and now you are asking people to either

  1. roll the dice on a new server and possibly get the same issues
  2. keep splitting up our group until we’ve completely lost our community
  3. Wait in 4-8 hour queues

Option 4 is Blizzard fixes this. More Layers or a 24 hour warning announcement with server transfers via the web to move onto a new realm. That would give us time to talk it out and see if everyone is okay to move, and let us move without losing progress (names, guild names, levels, gold, tradeskills). This open a server and let it fill up and then open another one is stupid.

And everyone saying that they have no queues now. Its still off peak time, lets see what these realms all look like in 2-3 hours. I’m willing to bet ever US east PVP realm is a multi-thousand person queue by 8pm EST.

Yeah I have friends too. We’ll gladly wait the 9 hour Herod queue. Weaker ppl will switch or quit. It always works out for us

“You don’t have to play with your friends/guildies”

Re-read what you wrote and remember that most guilds picked their realms and reserved names before they announced more. The blunder is on Blizzard, don’t blame the players.

I don’t think you guys understand the issue here. FULL means FULL, meaning, a server that’s listed as full is Blizzard’s way of saying you should play somewhere else. That the server is at maximum capacity and the only way to get in is to wait in ques until the server loses pop which could take weeks if not more. All the while you’re losing progress and people are establishing themselves on less populous realms.

And even when you do get in, you’ll have to deal with overcrowded zones and fighting for every single mob and mineral deposit/herb.

And really, for what? Because of a server’s name? That’s honestly the only reason Whitemane and Herod are popular: the names. Fundamentally they’re no different than any other US pvp realm.

Feel this 100% lol.

Are you leading by example, or is this just you trying to make you own experience better at the expense of another?

Understandable. I don’t mean people who already planned to play there and reserved names. I get that. I mean people who didn’t who are trying to get in even now because they see the higher pop and want to play where everyone else is. The Nostalrius mentality (10k+ pop or ded server). The que times are still around 20k.

Perhaps blizzard should have put a cap on name reservations per server (no more than the maximum server capacity) so only the people who reserved could get in and that number would not exceed server limit. This would result in people who didnt establish themselves there from the get go being forced to go elsewhere and which would be an easy decision for them because they weren’t established there.

No, because we have 5 pvp servers to start with, and we organized hundreds of people to play together on one of them. And even after splitting to 4 servers as some of the less core groups broke off all 4 are seeing the issue.

Whitemane, Stalagg, Skeram, Faerlina, Fairbanks, Herod, and even Incendius all had queues of 4k-16k and multi hour waits at 2 pm EST today.

I am completely on board with them blocking out character creation on those servers for anyone that does not already have a character there.

I mean I do understand the issue and despite my main being on one of those super servers I personally don’t have an issue with it. It’s expected and I’ve been through it time and time again when the game was truly healthy. Also I’m a lock so I know a thing about tagging mobs in a populated area.

The real issue is people are wired to get to the destination and ignore the journey because they have no patience. Progression isn’t going anywhere unless you’re trying to get server 1st or something and the ques will die down naturally as they always have.

I play on Rattlegore. It’s got a good pop I just wish more of these people sitting in que on the big realms would come over here or to the other realms that are weaker in pop.
