Please Tell us

Hi,

Please please tell us one way or another Blizzard.

Are there going to be Expansions for Classic, just as there were 13-15 years ago?

I don’t mean separate TBC servers. I mean an Expansion for Classic that adds TBC and that our characters now get exactly what we got when TBC came out originally.

Thanks.

Last i heard, they didn’t know that answer themselves.

Blizzard has not decided yet, so they cannot tell us. They probably won’t decide for quite some time.

Maybe an announcement at Blizzcon?

Obligatory something something phones.

I’d play TBC on phone tbh

Something, something Darkside. Something, something complete!

If they force Classic servers to expand to TBC, I’ll stop playing now. I have no interest in playing the changes TBC brought to the game.

I bet if they do decide to go this route, they’ll probably offer it as an opt-in and then merge the remaining servers that choose to stay capped at 60 into each other in order to maintain population.

Im more in the “no changes” camp…

But, I’ll bet if they decide to do Progression servers (which these are not) they’ll be new servers, that you’ll need to restart on. I highly doubt they would allow transfers over, either… because they’ll get more sub money if we have to do the grind again…

Regardless, i doubt we’ll even see progression servers, as the timed unlocks of the expansions are counterintuitive to the Casuals, and only sought after by neckbeards who devalued sleep many moons ago…

Any large company is going to go with the money flow. Casuals outnumber neckbeards, so any changes or additions will cater to casuals… IMHO, this is what formed retail into what it is today, unfortunately.

Personally, id love to tease myself with the idea of enjoying a progression server, but I’m not 17 anymore, and have to juggle mortgage/career/wife/kids aggro to sustain the ‘casual’ amount of time i can commit to Classic as it is… and would be stressed about progress if i knew that each impending expansion was only 1-3 months away…

And therefore, im a filthy casual, who just wants a steady home where i can SLOWLY make progress without fear of it being for naught.

Just my 2c.

I’d like to know why. I’m exactly the opposite. I’m going to stop playing if they don’t add expansions.

They stated in the reddit AMA that this is not decided yet but possibly could happen. In other words they cannot reply to you since they do not know

they answered this question a few weeks ago. right now the answer is they are going to wait and see.[quote=“Draenybrit-draenor, post:10, topic:288337, full:true”]

because the goal was to remake vanilla wow. you may be okay with moving onto TBC, but how would you feel if they later on then forced you to progress into wrath, cata, and beyond?
i want tbc. i want it badly. but i wouldn’t want it at the expense of classic servers.
what i would want is separate tbc server options.

Hey man, to each their own.

For myself, first off, I never got to do any of the 40-Man raids so that’ll be nice. Secondly, I never got to play any of the Alliance content during the Vanilla years.

There’s enough in Vanilla for me to stay busy for a long time with how much time I have. If I reach a point where I’m bored, I have no problem dropping it entirely. I want this version of WoW to hang around for a while and not be forced to move on.

I see no reason why they couldn’t do both, servers you have to start over on, and servers you can copy your character to. Then people can play how and where they want… continue with a character you’ve already built along with everyone else on the server, or start fresh with everyone else on a different server.
Edit: All while leaving the current classic servers alone to play on, or revisit, at one’s leisure.
