THey need to go through and so do a gold conversion for all the old out dated currency in our currency page .
Only if they plan to move the rewards to another system, like Timewarped badges. There are still some things you can buy with those currencies.
Taking them away and giving us a paltry amount of gold would make people very mad.
Now the TW ones yeah keep or ones that translate into transmog gear and such but there are a lot like Apexis crystals that can be converted .
Thatās what Iām saying. Translate these into TW badges and include that stuff on the TW vendors (as well as the original vendors).
I agree that they are going stupidly insane with currencies, but then they have been for some time now. If I check on one of my older characters, he collected 5 types in MoP and it went up gradually from there.
What would make it neater is if they simply created a set of say 5 general currencies which worked across the expansion, and then at the end whatever was left over was converted to gold and you started at zero for the same ones next expansion.
You must be new here to still have hope for next expansion. Even good expansions take like a full year for blizz to change the stuff people wanted changed in the beta. Its just gonna happen again with whatever 10.0 is
I did not read the thread, but I agree with OP that currencies are obnoxious and terrible. BUUUT I donāt see Blizzard learning their lesson any time soon~
Iām not too concerned one way or the other, but are people really so simple minded they canāt read 12 lines on their currency tab over a 2 years period?
It takes about 30 seconds to know what a currency is for and then youāre good for months or years.
Too many currencies is in the finest tradition of Legion.
Currencies donāt bother me.
This has to be the most useless complain in Shadowlands.
Thereās nothing wrong with currencies.
Not enough space in your bag? Buy bigger bags, deposit or destroy korthiaās stuff, u got reagents bank, regular bank, even thereās a void storage.
And please get rid of those awful greatful offerings. Weāre already grinding anima for the tranmogs thereās no reason we should have to be wasting time getting those as well.
I feel you, but im not holding my breath lol.
Here is my solution for both the currency bloat, and for the need of casual paths of progression.
There should be four currencies, 2 for pve and 2 for pvp.
The caveat is that the points are multi-usage so you have to choose how to use the points. also the points reset every patch cycle, and some items will be shelved or moved to the BMAH after the patch is over.
the first would be justice points (pve) and honor (pvp) For casuals it can buy gear and/or cosmetic pieces as a form of casual progression. world quests and world pvp quests would provide small amounts of JP and Honor, while instanced content would award more. However the gear you can get with JP and Honor would be limited in item level. You could also have pets and mounts for this currency also.

the second would be valor points and conquest points, this would be for high end raid gear, to purchase certain items with valor points you have to have the ahead of the curve achievement, and certain difficulty achievements for other items, or for PVP a certain rating. Valor would serve as bad luck protection for raiders, and for cosmetics and mounts that would make raiders feel special. You could even go as far as saying that certain items can only be purchased after X number of heroic kills or x number of mythic kills.
Source: Mythic Dungeons (first run of the day only) World boss kills, raids, rated pvp, arena
Oh no, not numbers!
Are you the sort that starts getting antsy when damage numbers get too high?
I like the currencies.
Iām personally impressed that they can just keep coming up with currency names
Currencies are like the one thing you can progress with via farming. I donāt mind them. They make solo play fun and other parts of the game.
God no. Please no.
Like it or not, there will still be a cost to purchase things, and Iād MUCH rather have them in a currency tab than taking up 2 30 slot bags.
You want to see the Mechagon or Protoform Synthesis Bag Issues expanded 10 fold because you donāt want to use the currency tab?
Threads like this are why things that SHOULD be currencies - like the Sandworn Relics in ZM are not currencies. Because people complained they were making too many currencies, and Blizzard always seems to think that means we want it to be more substantially noticeable when we loot the currency, so they put it in our bags.
And if your suggestion is they remove currencies altogether - again, no. That means everything will be bought with gold. Do you see how many people already accuse WoW of being p2w when you canāt buy 90% of the things in game with gold? Now imagine that even worse.
I understand the annoyance, I really do. But fact of the matter is, these currencies are going to exist, and Iād rather have them exist as currencies than bag space.
Now, if you rephrased the thread to say āPlease start consolidated currenciesā - that I would agree with. But the OP Implies you simply donāt want currencies at all, and I do not agree with that.
For instance, why not just a generic āShadowlands Relicsā Currency instead of Korthia Relics, Sandworn Relics, etc.
Stygia had no reason to exist in the first place. Nor did Infused Rubies (seriously WHY did Infused Rubies exist) Same with Grateful Offerings. And Lost Souls. (They literally made Souls a repeatable quest, so why even have them in 9.1.5 in the first place?) At this point, Lost Souls exist only to waste players time by making them go back and forth to the Maw a bajillion times to upgrade their sanctum, which is now a year old. And Grateful Offerings were essentially a timegate. There was no reason for them. They couldāve just made the vendor open later.
Nor did the 3 types of legendary currency. They easily could have just had it be Soul Ash the entire time. Worried that people who farmed the entire time would get ahead? So? They did the work, thereās no problem with that. Stop catering to the raiders who only play raid nights then complain because they fell behind in progression from the people who actively played the entire 6+ months of a tier. On top of that, they gated the legendary base item āupgradeā recipes behind the campaigns, so it wouldnāt have mattered anyway.
But removing the currencies completely? No. I do not want them to start charging gold for everything, legendaries alone are too much. They need to start consolidating currencies and not make a new currency for every little thing. Like, Tower Knowledge didnāt need to be a currency. Easily could have just made it so finishing one torghast wing let you unlock a single upgrade in the box.
Why do you need twelve currencies in one expansion?
This is why I think āCommunity Council Membersā are worthless.
I didnāt say to eliminate all currencies, just wondering why one expansion has TWELVE of them PLUS all the worthless things that suck up bag space.
