Please stop making zones with flying disabled

What was the point of wasting so much dev time redesigning flying if you were going to be obsessed with making new zones that restrict flying in new patches? It’s a great way to kill the content completely.

I have no desire to see a rare spawn, spend 5 minutes slowly running over to it, and then seeing it dead because the people right next to it obliterated its health.

Just let people CHOOSE if they want to fly or not.

I suspect in these micro bubble places they struggle to code in the limits and build in a story reason why you can’t leave

All another reason I get tired of fractal portal land.

They took the original Legion zones and expanded them, didn’t change the coding or add skyboxes.

I am wondering if my sub time can be paused lol. I do not like this new patch at all. The story is dry and bland. I understand its a get us to S2 patch…i dont see any reason to do anything this patch has offered.

With this in mind, don’t act so surprised that they keep adding em each expansion, silly.

I disagree. Frankly, I feel flying took away a lot of the ‘world’ of WoW. It’s also unfortunately not one of those decisions you can really take back.

Unless, of course, they start anew without flying. They tried Pathfinder but that was never well received because it didn’t really ever feel like the zones were made for being on the ground. Midnight is better about this than TWW was, but even then mountless Voidstorm is a bit of a sore spot.

One of the coolest experiences I had in Midnight was the hidden quest of escorting the capybara from the little spring to the shrine. No mounts or anything were allowed, and you got to take in Zul’aman in all it’s glory. And it’s a friggin’ beautiful zone to be grounded in.

Y’know why Undermine was one of my favorite zones? You didn’t need flying. You also don’t need flying in these new zones.

I understand this opinion may be in the minority. That’s fine, it’s my take and I’m sticking with it.

Not the way you want it to be…

If you want to delay, skip or put on hold your next World of Warcraft subscription payment, you can pause it on the Battle.net Account Settings. Pausing your WoW subscription will not pause or freeze your currently active game time on your WoW account, but will allow you to move the next subscription renewal and billing date. You can resume or fully cancel your subscription at any time.

You can choose to not do the content.

I quit when they said no more flying and then tried to bandaid it with pathfinder. I stayed away until mid legion. Came back and got to the point of trying to level up suramar faction. Said absolutely not as that was a terrible terrible zone and mobs, and quit again and still couldnt fly. I came back in the middle of TWW, and I could fly from the start. Leveled to max in TWW with mining. I leveled in midnight patch day from 80-90 with nothing but mining and flying around as well. The minute they stop allowing that, is the time I quit again. This time blizzard will lose 4 subscribers instead of 1.

I know they did it cus of the shroom games, but yeah, hard agree with ya.

Yeah I actually like limiting flying in some small zones, I really think it adds immersion. The real issue OP is identifying is problems with rates which they’ve solved before but unsurprisingly whiffed on for no reason here.

Wild the forums changed my character lol.

Yeah, that’s always real annoying, but I feel that happens regardless if you have flying or not.

…At least to me. Doesn’t feel great every time.

I think they can buff the spawn rate of the rares. They do seem pretty seldom.

Flying would sure make it easier in ̶N̶i̶g̶h̶t̶o̶l̶ Nagital.

Blundermine was my most disliked zone for this exact same reason. Did it once to enable the raid quest and then visited it twice on each alt for that quest. Guess I’ll treat this patch like SI in TWW, which I skipped until flying was enabled. If I skip these it just takes away another point from Midnight. :hear_no_evil_monkey::see_no_evil_monkey::speak_no_evil_monkey:

I went to undermine once and never went back, terrible. This is the same thing. I am skipping absolutely everything I can.

Pathfinder really only made me turbo thru the content faster just so I can fly like normal. And I tend to avoid flight restricted areas as much as I can

Same 100%. I quit when they tried to destroy flying and then adding in pathfinder. Came back in legion only to find out I still couldnt fly and suramar was the worst experience I ever saw. Left and came back in TWW. Glad I could fly at the start and the same with midnight. Ill never do that garbage again.

The story chapter that leads into 12.1 doesn’t come out until the 30th. It’s the first of 6 chapters for the 12.1 campaign.
