The amount of complaining that I have seen here over the past week for a new, optional game mode is unhealthy. Not for me, for you. They release a test version of something that they want to roll out, and everyone loses their minds because they are forced to participate in it for some non-mandatory fun rewards. You could literally just say that you didn’t like the game mode and be done with it. But no, have to repeatedly say the exact same thing over and over again ad nauseum that have already been said dozens upon dozens of times. For what?
Let’s dive into a couple of the pain points in you’ll understand why people have been so unreasonable lately…
First, the difficulty. People like to keep saying that it’s the hardest game they’ve ever played, they have never won, So darn difficult to play… Have you tried practicing? Have you tried looking at what people who are winning or doing? Have you tried spectating? It’s no surprise that people never win or do very poorly while others do really well. Because they make the same mistakes in competitive games over and over again, and never learn. Whining about it really doesn’t help you
Second, the “grind”. People keep saying this is the worst grind they’ve ever done, lake, have you never played classic or BC? People forget the kind of grinds that you used to have to do. Like, has literally no one here done the insane reputation grind that is actually in World of Warcraft? Easily 10 times worse. We’re talking about a game where you can drop in, play for 5 minutes a day, and after a week or two, you have an awesome cosmetic set. Yeah people will act like this is the worst thing they have ever done in their life. Like getting a root canal or something
You might think I’m being excessive by posting this, but seriously, No one forced you to do this grind. You don’t have to have every single reward in every single game that you ever play. And even if you think that, you don’t have to come here and complain about it every single day
Pointing out that a house is on fire, doesn’t mean you set it on fire. She’s literally just stating the obvious. People are complaining and losing their minds over nothing. Realistically, I’d tell them that they should be ashamed of themselves… Realistically, they won’t understand what I just said.
I mean, the people who have already finished it who say this are most certainly talking about the level of enjoyment they didn’t have with it. In which case fair, because it’s purely subjective. But in objective terms, I don’t recall there ever being a rep grind you can knock out in just a couple of days like this. Where you can perpetually farm rep at the same high rate the entire time and it doesn’t drop off to a mere trickle.
Why yes, thank you, I’ll take a cookie. Are they chocolate chip? I’d prefer coconut chocolate chip if you have those - if you don’t though, that’s ok!
What is everyone’s fav cookie?
No complaining though if someone likes a cookie or doesn’t like a cookie that you like or dislike and you decide to let everyone know that it’s not a cookie you like/dislike, Ok?
No one forced you to post about people posting about posting about posting about a game mode outside of that game mode’s channel.
My main complaints about the game mode have already been addressed (the knockback spam in the starting room and outfits not persisting between games). Still, not a game I’d play beyond what the rewards give and I’ve always played to win and actually managed to a good eight or nine times before hitting 40. I’m just not a Battle Royale kind of guy.
Instead, I’m currently working on the biggest grind of DF, which is the RNG grind behind getting all the different storms in the different zones for the meta.
People are allowed to post their feedback. Negative and positive alike. The fact that you wrote an essay over it shows that you need help. Years upon years of therapy.
To be fair, there was an actual WoW patch at the same time. If you didn’t notice every addon breaking, server instability, crashes, settings no longer functioning, some UI changes no one asked for, and new achievements with rewards that still haven’t been rewarded.
My engagement with it has been: How do I turn outlines back on? Okay, fixed that. Now how do I get HP/% to show on myself and my target at all times again without having to mouse over them? Still haven’t found that one out. Why does my macro keep losing it’s basic functionality every time I log out? Still haven’t figured that one out. either.
