The problem with K’T women isn’t that they’re big, big is fine, it’s that their… bigness doesn’t convey any power, unlike like the K’T men. K’T women don’t look strong or tough. They just look… big.
I think the problem is Blizz always tries to make playable women, like, cutesy too. So, they shy away from making K’T women burly, nautical badasses, because they have to be cute and soft too. It’s the kind of thinking that gave us the female worgen faces and female pandaren having the same cutesey face, while the males can be all scared and haggard, etc.
Not saying the K’T women should ripped and manly, but make them look strong. Give them a more powerful stance. Give them more upper body strength. I mean, just look at large female athletes and large women that do hard physical labor. K’T women look like they just sit around all day eating biscuits while the K’T men look like they spend all day juggling cannons and eating anchors.
it’s weird when you look at the strong women of their other games like the D3 Barbarian and Zarya.
The KT female looks out of place in plate armor, they need to look stronger.
I quite like the edits as the face looks stronger as does the body.
They are based off the Vrykul/orcs. Problem is they didn’t retain the strength. Went way too overboard.
Plus something I like about the edits is they once again fix the Disney eyes…over sized cutesy look.
It’s way out of place on the female worgen models as well.
The issue is KT has two types. The devs don’t want to do the work and add in 2 body types for each. Or they just don’t want to had in an option on how big/slim your character could be like other games have done.
KT women are on the chunkier side for sure. I was excited for them but I feel like blizzard kinda missed the mark on this one.
What I was hoping for was a character model more like Norn women from GW2. Those women are larger than normal humans but not fat. They are just bulkier, tall, strong and overall just look more powerful.
It’s a shame they don’t just record new voicelines and have a voice option in the regular human customizations for Stormwind/Gilneas/Boralus.
Yeah I’m still hoping for Vrykul at some point.
You’d think with the Kul’tirans being descended from them, that the female would have a little more of that look like the male KT certainly does.
The Heroes of the Storm version of Alexstrasza is considerably more thick than the WoW version. Little more similar to the version on the right as well, although Alex may have a little less waist.
No, they’re definitely fat. Not straight obese, but DEFINITELY not in fighting form. And let me be clear here, I’m fine with fat characters. People want to see themselves represented in the game. That can do wonders for helping people get that immersive experience in an RPG, and it’s good world building to have lots of variety in the models.
HOWEVER
As an obvious SJW, what you should be worried about is not fat shaming, although we SHOULDN’T normalize a lifestyle as unhealthy as cigarette smoking as though it were a perfectly fine choice…just saying. What you SHOULD be worried about is the fact that Blizz chose to make the Kuls the “fat race”. That is marginalization by definition!
The fact that they could scale armor to fit the Kuls is proof that ALL human models could have had a weight slider…you know…like every other game that was built this century. But no, if you want a heavy character, you have to play the FATTY RACE. I’m not even particularly sympathetic to the whole “let’s not fat shame” movement. Being overweight is horrific for your health and disrespectful to the people who love you because you are robbing them of precious time with you by shortening your life unnecessarily. There’s a selfishness in that which I just cannot reconcile with ethical behavior. But even I am put off by how Blizzard has handled this, in like the least sympathetic way possible. It’s embarrassing for us all.
