While this talent may seem good just for its flat 5% mastery increase, it takes away this increase during wing, so while wings gives us 15% healing bonus, mastery is reduced when the button is pressed, making Wings feel weaker overall and even bad to press.
If anything, wings could be back to 20% increase and they wont feel amazing either way due to the core issues the spec has.
This is terrible design, and its not exactly like Hpal is overperforming at the moment.
I feel like ‘Seek Deliverance’ isn’t even that bad. Probably because there’s A LOT of other really bad talents. A talent that makes you stronger outside your CD is an ok concept, imo. Other classes have had a similar thing IIRC.
It makes sense when you have a cooldown that’s super strong and you want something to bridge you between your cooldown windows.
This talent is probably contributing to that feeling of Wings feeling weak though because like you said, you just lose 5% mastery inside your cooldown. IMO, the problem is you’re sort of forced to take this talent right now because every other capstone is garbage. It would be better if there was another talent or a choice that offered power inside your cooldown as an alternative. Then you could pick between stronger CDs or a flatter profile.
When I press wings, my mastery goes from 42% down to 33%, while wings gives you only 15% healing. With Beacon of the lightbringer, this makes wings only a net 8% healing increase assuming you are 10 yds from other melee, and that same value from your beacon targets, which is honestly, quite terrible for our longest CD, and Hpal is not exactly the strongest healer this season anyway…
This is antisynergistic with our mastery and said talent, and contributes to wings feeling absolutely terrible this season.
At least talents like Overflowing Light, Veneration and so on are just ~1 net healing gains that can get better with tuning, Seek Deliverance as a whole contradicts how our class/CDs are designed and needs a rework.
