Please revert the delve changes

All the fun extra damage effects have been nerfed into trash. Phase cutter, footbombs, etc. They’re so grindy and boring now…

I second this. please revert these changes.

I cannot put into words how… meh, boring and grindy delves feel now, season 3 has been the most I’ve played since TWW launched and now after these changes it feels the same as it did when I stopped playing during season 1.

It also allowed me to manage my time better, I could focus on Weekly content getting my Coffer keys across all my characters and then when certain delves are up I could blast them in an hour or two and get everything done.

the wow content loop has never felt so satisfying, I never felt like I was leaving anything on the table it was so good.

I bought the expansion early because I was enjoying my time so much. Now I would have still bought it anyway, but at a much later date after all the inevitable time-gated stuff for season 1 went away and only the base version.

I feel hoodwinked.

I agree. The effects were overpowered but only needed a small nerf. As usual Blizzard over corrects and nerfs them into the ground,

It looks like they heavily cut down Brann’s damage as well; previously his CD/rando abilities were hitting for 30-50% of the random nonelite trash’s HP, now it’s more like 5%, almost doubled my clear time on my first 11 this week.

Are you talking about the delve tuning that wasn’t mentioned in the patch notes? I agree because I just completed the solo gear grind, but I feel less powerful now. It’s not just those extra damage effects, they’ve buffed monster health as well I think. I went to do the Season 2 boss on Tier ?? and he now has 388 Million Health, and even though I beat him in one go, it was a challenge that had no rewards.

I was hoping the damage increases were a feature since it’s the last season before the expansion, but nope. I’m pretty sure they nerfed all the abilities that did damage to lower than they were before the last patch. Admittedly, killing the boss in 1-2 seconds surely wasn’t intended, but the damage Brann and the footbombs did is now pathetic in comparison. Footbombs went from being insta-kill to doing minor damage, even on tiny trash mobs. Brann went from one-shotting packs to running around even more (since they take longer now) and pulling even more mobs then he use to. It wasn’t bad when he’d pull an extra 5 mobs because he’d also kill them pretty quick. Now he pulls 5 mobs and while my main is ok, my alts get destroyed.
It’s not like the extra damage was a huge issue this late in the expansion cycle. It just made it more fun for the people that like doing delves and like playing a lot of alts. 25-50% more time to run a delve means I’ll be doing a lot less of them on alts.

I knew things got nerfed in these. Some of these delves are utter slogs now. Like the Karesh one that just takes forever even with phase dive.

The worst part is with the expansion nearing an end this content is barely relevant. These changes just punish people who are coming back or going back to them. It’s not fun, it’s just boring.

These Delve changes have actually hard turned me off from them. I can understand that some of them needed SOME tuning, but suddenly T11 delves that I had been reliably clearing are taking upwards of an hour. Honestly, I wouldn’t have cared about the tuning changes except for the fact that NON-BOSS MOBS are running with 400mil hp, which is basically boss level hp. And then they hit like a mack truck on top of that.

So the worst part is, they didn’t even do the right fixes in or to fix what they thought was broken.

So they have fixed brann some he does alright damage now since tuesday reset but still nowhere near how good it was before.

I’m amazed – people are still doing delves?

It’s likely mainly for Alts now.

Anyone who wants gear. There seems to be a decent number of people returning for Midnight that want to gear up for the AOTC mount while its still obtainable. They certainly aren’t going to be able to do that in m+ at this point in the season.

which makes it even more crazy that they would fun police it and nerf them.

Or in my case I took most of TWW off (and hardcore farmed Lemix) and want to at least get some of the “outgrew the need for weathered/etc. crests during TWW season 3” legacy achievements.

It’s been long enough since I did any delves that I didn’t notice this, but I’m not surprised. The “strong” feeling of delve powers since Season 3 started was clearly a bug, as even a summoned Ky’veza on T11 was getting one-shot by something like Reno’s Random Bomb or a single footbomb. The damage didn’t show in floating combat text nor did it ever get recorded in the combat log, so some internal testing flag was likely left enabled for that ability class. (This same issue also caused a world quest in Highmountain for Legion Remix to be impossible to complete, because the special ability required to be used for it was in the same class as the delve abilities.)

It’s hard to even know what the intended tuning of Season 3’s delve abilities was supposed to be due to this bug. Clearly they had no idea either or they wouldn’t have had to attempt another tuning pass after fixing it. Sounds like a bit of a miss, still. Season 2’s were about as useless too.

I farm the crests for upgrades and crafted gear.

I’ve noticed this too, to this day. But it’s extremely rare. Maybe once in a down delves I’ll pull the last boss and it’ll die in a single global with no apparent reason why.

Pretty sure the Footbombs you get from a delve buff are still hitting hard. The trinket Footbombs are trash now though.

Last week I did my 3 tier 11s and my 5 tier 9s. Easily.

This week it was like pulling a rope up a hill.

I’m not geared to the teeth. Far from it, but the current tuning of Delves is atrocious. It’s slowly burning me out and all I want to do is get some hero braces to complete my appearance. I’m not even looking to fully upgrade all my gear.

I just don’t understand how hard it is for them to understand fun is what matters. They always have to add time to things.

Have you guys done LFR lately? The fights take years. I fell asleep last time I did LFR.

Stop ruining Delves.

You’re gonna take this the wrong way, but that’s fine.

Are you sure you’re actually pressing your buttons and not just expecting Brann to carry you through damage procs that are no longer bugged? I just did a T11 Kriegval’s and it felt almost no different from my normal T11 clears for most of this season. 8 minutes from zone-in to finish.

The one major difference I could immediately see is that Hatarang is no longer bugged and deleting mobs when it procs. That aligns with my prior-stated theory that they made a fix to the bug in delve abilities with the launch of patch 11.2.7. But it would have shaved off 1 minute on the clear, at most. Hardly noticeable; I’m not so busy that a minute’s difference in a delve clear is going to break my schedule.

If you were just running along waiting on Brann to proc every trash pack to finish it for you, that’s likely the source of why you think things are “slower”. But they aren’t, and I can pretty much be considered an authority on this topic because I have 977/1000 delves completed on the Delve Infinite achievement, with the extreme majority having been run on a single character. Nothing was “nerfed”; a bug fix was made and they play as they always did prior to 11.2.5’s release which introduced it.

Never had this experience in MFO even when most of the DPS was below whatever alt I was on. It’s been fine all season.
