Bumped.
This is killing my will to go into TBC on my druid or at all.
Also now have an open short against blizzards stock. (Protest and money making venture in one!)

Wait so you’re telling me blizzard made a non-prepatch hotfix to druids? Oh man, we definitely didn’t see it coming.
Honor was not this f****ed back in pre-patch tbc, for the love of god dont give blizzard that for a second.
This is the thing… I never powershifted during TBC, and honestly never knew it was thing until this thread. I always played the class as a rogue that happened to be able to shape-shift into a tank. Never had any issues in the raids I ran, and I never had anyone in my guild (2006-2007), tell me to play the class differently.
In all honesty, is this change that much of a game breaker for so many feral players? Honest question, not a troll.

It’s definitely encouraging to see the honor fix that was just announced. We need to keep posting about this issue! We want the more responsive, faster, and more fun rotation! #FixTheTick
Yeah ive been getting some serious down time when trying to powershift in pvp to get off a shred. Keep wasting my bash duration windows.
Just had the displeasure of raiding AQ last night on my Feral and god was it awful, pondering if I should just spam Mangle after every shift or sit there waiting doing nothing until the next energy ticks for the 2 shreds. The rotation with Shreds was absolutely clunky and unfun and the one with Mangle spam was not complex enough and at that point I would rather play a rogue and just spam sinister strike.
never give up hope guys…
#FixTheTick bump
Congrats,
You were horrible (or your other melee were horrible I suppose).
I was power shifting in classic and all through original TBC it was the only way to stay within spitting distance of the other melee.
#fixthetick, please
I feel like this quote from from Patrick Dawson during a Blizzcon interview is relevant here:
“With Classic, people would bring things up and we would do a deep dive and be like, ‘Hey, this is exactly how it works.’ And they’re like, ‘Okay, but that’s not what I remember’… With Burning Crusade, rather than have us just answer ‘this is how it was’, the question is, well, what do you think it should be? And we’ll listen. Because ultimately, we’re making a game for the people that want to play it.”
Everyone spam this across the forums.
You guys do realize that this isn’t a bug and just how feral was in the end of TBC right?
TBC 2.2-2.4 regen system:
-Mana and energy regenerate continuously rather than discretely server side, but the regen is only delivered client side in discrete 2 second batches. Each player maintains a personal tick timer that can be reset.
-Any change to the rate of regeneration triggers a full reset of the tick timer, as well as an instantaneous refund of mana/energy equal to the previous regen rate integrated over the time since the last tick. Subsequent ticks then return energy at the new regen rate.
-For most classes, this fixed the issues with Innervate/Evocation, as the tick reset means that the exact amount of mana regen intended by the ability is restored.
-For feral druids, this was a massive unintended nerf to the powershifting rotation. In the 2.2 system, a shift from cat form to caster form was treated as a change in regen rate from 10/second to 0, and the reverse for the shift back into cat. This means that the energy tick reset upon every powershift. In the original implementation, zero energy was instantaneously restored upon the tick reset, since the “prior rate of regeneration” was 0 in caster form.
- TBC powershift cycle using 2.0 regen:
t=0, shift, 60 energy
t=1.5, Shred, 18 energy
t=2, tick, 38 energy
t=2.5, GCD ends, wait
t=4, tick, 58 energy
t=4, Shred, 16 energy
t=5, shift, 60 energy
It wasn’t even difficult to find, this is the 2.2-2.4 energy system. There is no bug, this is TBC. It not only was compiled for people to easily google, it was sited from Ownedcore, ElitistJerks, and numerous other sources that existed 07-09.
Just because you do not like something, does not mean that it is broken.
ya it’s not a bug- the issue doesn’t have the best branding right now. this patch happened after most of the content was already released (kara/mag/gruuls/tk/ssc/bt/hyjal+ 3 arena seasons). Ferals back in the day got to experience most of the expansion without this nerf, which is why TBC classic is going to feel pretty weird if it isn’t adressed.
it can also be easily speculated that it was unintentional in the first place but blizz kinda too lazy to fix
Not speculation.
It was acknowledged as a bug at the time but Wrath was when they decided to fix feral.
Another day, here for #FixTheTick.
I support #savethekitties!
Please fix this blizzard!
Nothing you do, outside of pummeler memes in early classic phases, was ever going to place you within spitting distance of competent pure dps.
Powershifting at its core, is a misguided effort to throw out all of your strength as a hybrid, to still wind up as a meme dps.
