Please remove timer in M+ in midnight

They need to think of something besides interrupts to do in dungeons and then reduce the amount required by 50%. They already are nerfing casts in Midnight. We need stuff to do that aren’t affixes that rotate, we need new evergreen mechanics in dungeons.

I miss the mechanic from Cata where you had to jump in the air or you would get almost 1 shot. I get why they stopped doing it, but it was a funny mechanic that filtered people.

The timer is M+.

Without it they would need to balance it like raids. So if your group couldn’t time a key, instead you will spend hours finding out you can’t complete it.

I don’t mind a death counter. That simply encourages people not to pull overly large dangerous packs.

The timer I dislike because it does encourage overly large packs and rushing. It doesn’t encourage communication to solve challenges it simply makes people frustrated at those who cannot operate in a near telepathic state.

Sorry no. The timer is core to m+. Not everything needs to be a slogging dungeon crawl.

Raiding is a good no timer alternative….

i dont mind the timer
i don’t like the affixes though

I’m just gonna point out that, toxicity only seems to stem from the toxic casual crowd… Who are bad at the game.

Timer or not you’re never fixing this cesspool.

I think the most egregious part of failing the timer in M+ is having your key downgraded. If they just removed that it would be mostly fine i think. Receiving lower quality gear and crests and low score is already good punishment for failing the key

Unfortunately, this just depends on what state you’re in.

:face_with_hand_over_mouth:

If there’s no communication, how is it toxic?

Jokes aside, I’ve probably done 1,000 keys this expansion with maybe a handful of heated arguments and insults.

You’re misunderstanding the point of the timer.

They should add 4 additional timers

The timer is the challenge. It’s always been beat the dungeon in time and that’s never going to change. Even if it’s removed players will still try to beat the dungeon in the shortest amount of time and if it’s not already agreed upon by the other players it’ll be way way more toxic. At least with the timer in place it’s agreed upon.

As you can see I don’t always beat the timer but I always try to.

I disagree strongly with removing the timer that’s one of the main points of mythic +.
If you want an easy dungeon & don’t care about timing just put “completion, chill only” in title, people will generally get what the means. You shouldn’t get the same score as someone who goes faster (there is a cap on points/time), your key should downgrade if you don’t time it. That’s the system.

Death penalty I also like because it urges you to live, but I don’t feel strongly about until higher keys so whatever.

I run with plenty of people who are not toxic, I’d say around 10% of people I pug with are toxic.
I don’t push higher keys with pugs (anything over 13), I do that with friends/guildies because I know what I’m getting into, comms make it more smooth.

Also, in low keys I don’t want to go slow especially if farming gear (looking at you mites), if I want to RP and look around in the dungeon I’ll do follower or just walk in solo because you can absolutely solo it.

Personally, I think this is somewhat closer to the way it should be. M+ is an evolution of CM which was done for bragging rights and in the case of 11s and higher there’s virtually no reason (a few extra crests) to do them beyond bragging rights so the timer bit being around until higher keys makes sense. Ideally 11, 12, 13, and maybe even 14s would each reward something for timing every one of them. A pet, a title, cosmetic set, and a mount (not necessarily in that order).

However, I also wouldn’t say it should only be in this range. I’ve advocate for a bare minimum of timing required for +9 as that gives access to +10s which gives you myth track slots in the vault. Realistically maybe you’d even add the timer at 6 or higher as 5 and below only awards champion gear with hero track vault and nobody should really care what goes on in those keys. It’d be a playground for new players not to stress about timing it and once they are comfortable with how the dungeon works they can push higher keys.

Doubt it ever will happen though.

Good news! The timer barely matters until higher keys any way and more serves as a ‘will the group die 30 times before finishing’.

This is a game where we should be chilling out and helping each other defeat challenges for fun and loot. While I don’t mind mythic plus being a thing. I can see that the mentality mythic plus has created is the antithesis of the original point of the game. Mythic plus players don’t help each other and are generally not chill about losing.

This is why people keep attacking the timer because it usually negatively effects 1-2 out of the 5 players in the group.

And then we add a timer to delves, right? People run them solo, so there’s no issue of toxicity, right?

Wait, what do you mean it doesn’t belong in delves?

Tell me you don’t do M+ without telling me you don’t do M+

Then maybe they can go back to WOD challenge mode and get rid of this M+ garbage.

This is absolutely false in every way possible

I stand corrected.

Casual / low level m+ players may be the ones that encompass this attitude.

Yes!!! Nothing excites me more than 10 year old content! You’re so right, we should remove an entire endgame pillar and shove all those sweaty, mean, dirty, filthy ELITISTS into WOD Challenge mode content that awards absolutely nothing of value. I hope Blizzard offers you a game dev position omg
