No one was actually scared. People won’t play a game if they are being killed in a few seconds by some op twink, who feels good dominating the leveling brackets. Sorry the argument is a non argument, action was taken for the good of the game overall.
Most people I know that quit, did so because they felt slieghted by blizzard and the lack of communication about the change. That in addition to the sudden loss of conveniently being able to queue, have a somewhat reasonable queue time, and to be able to play a quick game or two of random bgs taken away. Nobody I saw say they were done because “aww man I can’t smash lowbies.”
I’ve waited for an hour for a raid to form. I’ve done mythic (admittedly not cutting edge) raiding before. The high end, ultra competitive form of that for PvP is Arenas or RBGs which at lower levels translates to arenas (which people still do) or wargames(which people do). Blizzard took away a facet of the game offered to everyone else, effectively. Even if technically they didn’t, it was a result well withing expectations. I think if there was heads up telling people in advance about the change, it would have been a lot more different of an outcome.
Players STILL get 1-2 shot. Maybe more so as I’ve seen players up to the 30s be flat out missing slots or using whites (like easily accessible stuff like boots or gloves) or stuff like str weapons on rogues or int trinkets on warriors.
Most twinks will probably resub for vanilla, and if you wanna talk about “unfair” play as a x0 vs x9’s where you can’t hit them and they crushing blow you. And that’s not even including gear differences. The game has balanced a lot of things, but taken away people’s want to, idk, improve their character with the ease of access to everything. So when there is a difference because someone spent time it’s “unfair” vs. people wanting to gear up or just level in dungeons and do max PvP (or pve).
Just like at 120, if you queue undergeared you might get wrecked. The only difference is that you don’t have a choice to level past max level and the game forces you to gear up, “gut gud” or quit. At least levelers could just outlevel the content effectively.
P.S. GY camping is an issues, and will always be an issue as long as GYs exist in their current format (spawned with 0 protection, and is easily accessible with pretty much any mobility). If GYs were drop ins (and not choke points) it might be less of an issue, but then randoms would ultimately play extra scattered.
P.S.S. Also, bgs have time limits (and my age is showing I guess because they have for a while), you don’t know real pain until you’ve been GY camped (at 60 no less), leave the game because enemies don’t have to cap at all, and queue back into the SAME game. That is an issue. Lol. The game has evolved (and in some cases the opposite) in a lot of ways. People enjoying specific levels of content isn’t taboo. (I mean, based on what I see you are a 110 toon, so either you are posting on an alt or decided not to play BFA because you didn’t enjoy the content enough for it to be worth it).
Props to anyone who actually reads this guys walls of text .
Seriously right? Props to them!
Simple solution, don’t allow group ques for random bg’s for 119 and under. Speaking about the 70 bracket it was pre-mades the majority of the time during peak hours. I 100% agree this is not enjoyable for casuals and levelers as usually pre-mades take over the map and travel as a group destroying everyone. I would solo que in the mornings and if you got into a bg with 1 or 2 twinks per side it wasn’t bad and nothing like what some are crying about.
I played in the 30-39 bracket on my warrior that has enchanted heirlooms and not great gear. Ran a bg that had a twink warrior on the alliance side and sure they were doing tons of damage, He also died a lot because he was focused the entire match. We won a rather easy game. I fail to see what the huge problem is with random twinks in games.
No thanks. Twinks say they are all about challenge, not about ganking levelers. Well, here’s your challenge. Go get it!
Here’s your challenge. Got get it (as in, the rest of your gear). No twink needed to “gank” you when you come in with half your slots empty.
Yep, I’ve said this exact same thing. Premades would be fine if they were matched against another like at max level.
It’s an MMO people play together.
Premades are at most only 5 people with 5 pugs even in the smallest BG.
The only difference in a premade for randoms and regular pugs is communication and pugs can do that by typing in chat or joining voice.
There’s a reason they match them at max level. The problem with leveling BGs is most are solo, so the premade twinks stood out far more than just 1 or 2 scattered.
What if the bracket they are in does not enough have people participating to form wargames. What about the late night or early morning pickup games for those who work during the day?
That statement just shows you don’t have any idea what you are talking about. Twinking is all about stopping leveling at a particular point then proceeding to get the best gear available. If you leave xp on then there is no reason to get the best gear since it will diminish in value as you level.
i would not do that either
So how do you explain twinks telling levelers to do it lol
First of all who told levelers to get the BEST gear available? We merely suggested that they would not get roflstomped if they did not enter battlegrounds missing slots or with a white item that has no stats.
If the impact of their character dying in battlegrounds is soooo traumatic for the “new people” why do they enter a pvp scenario in the first place? Especially since the experience gain is small compared to questing or doing dungeons.
Pays sub do not enter bgs. If you read the forums there are plenty of threads telling levelers to do dungeons etc before entering pvp, which is pointless because they are leveling through and get rewards for winning.
It makes no difference XP off is out of there. So I don’t know what else to say.
But they did lol
Why did you ignore the first half of my post about the lower populated brackets?
Anyway lets look at your post. The idea of new players entering dungeons before attempting battlegrounds is a good idea. It allows them to become accustomed to the rotation and strengths/weaknesses of their class and spec, while at the same time getting gear - which is advantageous in pvp.
The experience gain in bgs is minimal, only with the 2 trinkets returning champ and defending champ does it start to stack up. For a bg loss you get a pathetic amount of experience.
As for there being “no difference” I guess the increase in queue times across the board we are just going to ignore?
Once classic is out the ques will be dead too XD. Also people keep bringing up these new players so much like we r getting them none stop. Bfa isn’t getting any new players it’s losing players lol the que times speak for itself this isn’t wotlk
This is straight up BS. I haven’t read anyone on this board saying lvlers need bis. What has been said is - don’t come on BGs with white gear and empty slots and not expect to get your patoot stomped.
Don’t forget wearing agi gear as plate or cloth gear as leather and so on
