Why would you even take that bait? It was such an awkward comment
Youâre either going to win or lose a BG. There is no grey (no pun intended) area. Before, the team with the most twinks won. I donât think anyone who isnât trying to goof around and get someone going will disagree with that. When there are no twinks, win ratios will be about the same. The only way around this is if all the best players played 1 faction on twinks, which is false.
The team with the smarter players won. Enchanted heirloom gear and gear in other spots could keep up with twinks, but you have to be higher than honor level 1 (meaning actual BG experience) to know that.
Skilled/Geared players are still performing with the same efficacy as before separation.
Although, the overall gearing quality of most players since 8.1.5 has been lowered.
(As recorded in XPon)
Less competition allows the whales to eat freely.
Just as in wrath, you have the immature people who pout and do some of the awkward things they openly admit here, such as entering BGs and just sitting there as their way of revolting, etc. We wonât get âgoodâ data until after all the smoke clears, which could take a few months. Those that have all their dogs barked usually stop doing things like this in that time frame.
Letâs be frank.
Longer Queues are an issue.
Take a quick look at the other elephant in the room, threads involving same faction Queues.
Solutions are being discussed.
Letâs be fair here. The screenshots you provide are better than nothing at all but they arenât empirical or statistically significant. If you had taken 100 screenshots before the split and 100 after, that âdataâ still wouldnât be even remotely generalizable to player trends.
Grey doesnât offer good data for the same reason that you donât, no one has it.
I didnât ask if longer queues were problematic, I asked why the queues are longer now. Are there many twinks or not? Are you still in our queues are arenât you?
I will say this now, as I will again.
We know who has provided the most consistent information on this subject.
The most reliably statistically accurate methods were used to assure quality factual data.
No argument.
I just saw that in your comment. Is he actually still trying to talk to me? Why would somebody talk to someone who doesnât even read anything they ever say? And I was just talking about dogs being barkedâŚ
Anyway, you are correct. Screenshots are not very good âdataâ. Theyâre good anecdotes. Not to mention, Iâve looked at several of them and a lot of them made absolutely no sense. Screenshots taken from inside the flag room saying ânope, no GY camping going on here!â. Without quantitative data, youâll need several hundred samples to make a good assessment.
People have made excuses for losses for years now. SSâs at least show not much has changed in quality of Bgs. Sure twinks arenât doing their dmg now itâs people with enchanted heirlooms on better low level bg classes.
Thatâs what Iâm trying to explain, they donât actually show anything substantive.
I donât like criticizing your methods because youâre one of precious few people around here who actually goes out and tries to obtain something reliable, but it isnât working.
If you only take screenshots of GY camps, you could say âLook at this Imgur album of 30 screenshots. 30 is a big number. This album means that GY camping occurs at the same or similar rate as before the split.â Thatâs just not how social data is collected or presented.
If you want to appear less bias, you might have screenshotted every battleground you were in and compared the percentage of all BGs played that were GY camps against the percentage of all games that werenât; both before and after the split.
But even then, we couldnât conclude anything decisively. Screenshots, as Grey said, are good anecdotes rather than good data.
