21 weapon appearances
4 full sets, one for each armor type
1 illusion
1 tabard
1 dragon
All of the above is available for this season alone
and to think that people call me a troll when I say that PvE players get the short end of the stick in terms of cool seasonal rewards while citing the single aotc mount from the final tier
The illusion thing is even worse because it used to be available for an xpac, but as of SL that was quietly cut down to seasonal and wasn’t really known by many players until forum posts were made about it.
True but this game was designed for 1 character not alt armies and some drops like Love rocket, headless, MoP wb mounts , Tusks of Mannoroth shouldn’t be Ok because are like 10 less items with that kind of %, the game should enable that at some point any player have the same chance to obtain this kind of rewards, based on pure RNG a player with really bad luck could spent years looking for something and never get it. It doesn’t mean that anything should be easy but it should be a challenge or at least a bad luck mechanic that help that player to achieve it eventually.
Was, but it’s really not these days. That’s why people are constantly throwing them shade for things they do as being alt unfriendly…because alts are far more important in the retail version of the game versus the early days.
Deterministic rewards are, generally, a good thing especially for current content in regards to gear, but when it comes to rare collection type content if the difficulty of their design is in the low drop rate. When you ask for a challenge in collecting you’re not asking for a difficult encounter you’re acknowledging that it’s OK for the farm to be long.
The problem with low drop rates and long farms is that even if they’re gunning for a specific amount of time spent to get something some people are going to be above or below it. And you can add bad luck to an item so that people should realistically see it in ~50 runs, but you’ll still have people here WTFing about being on run 100 without it while others got it in 2.
Exactly, the game was designed a way on which leveling just 1 character was a big thing and then evolve to an alt fest, however Blizzard keeps contradictory views about alts and systems.
Exactly, but there won’t be a huge impact if there’s a way to get it when the RNG factor is the only factor and the gameplay is near to null like hitting Sha of anger with 1 spell and waiting for the sloot machine for 8k attempts or more, this kind of drops drive people away and doesn’t incentivize a good environment for new collectors.
As i mentioned, Mechadone Achievement was changed from nowhere, that means there’s a knowledge about low drops being something bad for players.
Everything depends on how the bad luck is implemented, it could be like Legion legendaries on which you eventually get that item after a # amount of attempts or it could be like Shadowlands rares that drop mount for each covenant but you can also buy the same mount for anima and grateful offerings, there’s going to be always lucky people but the problem with so many post around rng drops is that players spent years and the % chance is the same , nothing changes and that could continue for more years.
I leveled an army of plate chars, and overall more than 2000 attempts until I finally got them.
With all the effort I put in and other people I know to get them, I think they should stay the same. It’s okay that something is hard to get. If you don’t want to grind it out, don’t, it’s not something you need.
I like that it’s rare. It’s not even limited, everyone can just go get them. It’s just rare. And that’s okay.
Tell that to a new player, you must just level up 30 Wars and do 1k-2k Attempts for that cool mog instead of doing the end gameplay but you also really like those shoulders.
Some just won’t get interest on this game, compared to other games that keep the game evergreen, if they could just balance Garrosh like mage tower with the drop being 10-20% that could be a better engagement between effort and rng.
I could say the same about Mecha done achievement before Blizzard changed it, there was players that got it, including me , that means that is not limited or that’s possible, still Blizzard decided to change a meta achievement from BFA in the middle of Shadowlands, i still wonder why?
Quick question, And do you like this way of farming? if you get those shoulders, Do you think other players should do the same? or Do you think changes are needed?
I’ll never wish anyone to do 8k attempts on Sha of anger + the other MoP world bosses that i farm, waiting 15-20mins for respawn on each character for just 1 hit on the Sloot machine… i wish i could get all that time back to invest on BGs and have the mount at the same time.
Exactly my point, i don’t get people like Agoro, i know there’s a playerbase that want somethings to remain the same because they endure something, but there’s a huge playerbase that would like changes because they endure insanity farms, i’m right now leveling up my last 6 characters to 50 for the love rocket.
Each expansion since 7.3.5 Blizzard decided to do this farm even worse because you must level up characters again to a minimum level for the epic box with a 0.03 chance.
There was another post about MoP legendary cloack and there was a huge response from players that completed it, the majority would like that questline again in the game, so any player could do it. I don’t get people that want this removed questlines or items with % that impact current players and new ones.
Please don’t give up. I know it’ll drop for you eventually.
But maybe dial back your effort a bit? 21 characters is a ticket to burnout pretty darn quick.
I didn’t know at the time that the shoulders were weekly-locked; meaning that my normal, heroic and mythic efforts per character were way, WAY overkill.
What work??? Level up 10-30 alts from the same classes that you already know how to play , just to one shot every boss and wait for a rng sloot machine…or just 1 hit because even Blizzard had to put an inmunity shield on some MoP world bosses… what work??
This isn’t the mage tower, there’s not a challenge… its just a lottery game on which players with multiple characters have more attempts, that “work” can be partially skipped if someone pays any number of character boost just for more attempts.
Work would be if we had every raid balanced to current player power like mage tower and Garrosh was a challenge with a proper drop rate, not the current scenario for almost all the previous expansions content.
