And nothing in your post gives any actual evidence negating my statement.
The ‘quit moment’ is a superficial theory pulled out of a youtuber buttocks without any academic or scientific foundation, let alone any type of systematic study to validate it.
And even if it wasn’t just all hot, smelly air, you didn’t bother to tie it to any actual evidence, so it still wouldn’t negate my statement.
No where in my post did I hold players responsible for the game design of 1:2000 drop rate rares.
I held (and hold) players responsible for (a) choosing to engage with the content (b) their choice of how they engage with the content and (c) their choice to continue engaging with the content long after it becomes a negative experience (or, in your words: a nightmare).
Please don’t put words in my mouth.
That is not what you said. You said:
‘Blizzard can’t decide whether they want to ramrod everybody into current content to make their metrics look better or have them stuck in old content indefinitely’.
That is an ‘or’ in there, not an ‘and’.
And please don’t bring addiction into this as that is a serious issue which shouldn’t be trivialized by using it to shield and excuse the spoiled entitled whiners who want rare rewards without putting the time, effort and energy in to acquire them.
And, given that those rare items are a very small percentage of the overall cosmetics in the game, they can live without them. And maybe learn something in the process.
But that’s the whole point of my argument with the other poster.
I only do long grinds that equal fun to me. I had a ball running Shadowfang Keep over 80 times in order to get ‘Pattern: Dark Leather Tunic’.
If the grind does not equal fun to me, I don’t do it. I ran Throne of the Four Winds a couple of times for the mount, discovered I did not enjoy running it all and haven’t touched it since.
I really wanted the mount from The Stonecore and enjoyed the instance so I ran it quite a lot. Then I stopped enjoying it, so I stopped running it.
And every player has that choice.
And every player is responsible for the choice they make. Not Blizzard, the player.
Ok…but what you shared previously isn’t a fact but an opinion/assumption since you haven’t provided any proof to back it up that this grind causes players to play more and generates more revenue for company
This is such a non argument, “If is not fun then don’t do it”.
Then why the hell would anyone play a game that isnt fun? I’l give you a hint, not blizzard mau’s for sure.
It’s a pretty narrow way of thinking. If we use “necessity” as an argument one can argue that playing the game altogether is something you shouldn’t do because you don’t need to. Using necessity to discuss collecting things you desire. Incredibly laughable.
Now imagine Love Rocket 0.03, while Tusks are 0.4 drop rate from WoWhead i don’t know where you took the 0.02%.
We already discussed this topic on several forums post:
I prefer to link the community council maybe one of them can check on how the playerbase keeps creating post around this kind of % rewards and check with Devs or maybe Devs can check that are post related to the community council post.
This kind of drops only incentivize an alt army meta, if you want those tusks, you’ll need like 10-20 plate characters maybe more, Sieg of Orgrimmar doesn’t have a skip and the BMAH as bad luck mechanic it’s not player friendly.
This game isn’t friendly for a player with few characters, even one player with each class will only have 3 attempts per week (pala, dk, war). We need a better reward path, that idea that some rewards are low drop to keep people subscribe is bad because eventually some player will quit and this kind of thing doesn’t promote the game to new players.
My issue with SoO is the length of time it takes to run each week. Fourteen boss and 4 of them prior to Garrosh require you to engage in the fight rather then just one tapping the boss. That is not even mentioning how much of this raid you need to just walk trough. At least with Tusks you are actually able to save a Heroic/ Normal lockout at Garrosh and share it to a plate wearer weekly. The Iron Juggernaut mount however you are SOL on that.
Go invest in a Tusks of Mannoroth NFT if you want something exclusive. People want them because they look awesome. Like the Horseman’s mount, or the Big Pink Whetever-they-renamed-it Rocket.
You can do on your own account, just need to use a non plate wearer.
I used the lockout trick for about 1200 attempts across characters , then i just said f this.
