Please make an All Bomb build for SV

Not gonna likewise ask whether it’s common for you, but if our perspectives align, calling that same perspective petty is hardly advocacy for it.

To be clear here:

  • I want various shades of techy vs. primal hunter, further varied between fewer and more numerous actions (especially among the technology-based/more technique-based side) and greater and lesser dependence on one’s pet (especially among that primal side).

I think a big complication for the glyph advocates is having it match 1:1, why most glyphs are recolors. You want an option to replace Wildfire Bomb with a glaive animation we had previously but it still will be fire damage.

The tree is already designed essentially where fire is AoE, bleed is ST so trying to make choice nodes with all “modern” elements being replaced with more primitive bleed counterparts would mean a lot of tree redesigning

Sounds like Blizzard’s job to do and our job to express the desire.

The design has pretty much been either explosions or melee moves, why would they even move into these themes when thats never been the sv class design. TBH these sound like hero talents which isn’t going to happen since ours are already defined for next tier.

This person just seems really upset that some people actually do like bombs or rather some people don’t agree with all the horrendous anti bomb discourse that’s been going on all month.

To be clear, by “techy” I mean the full spectrum of technology and humanoid, trained technique, however low. From Harpoon to venoms to drakesfire to dual-wield skills, etc.

All of which would be opposite more bestial / wildling stuff.

But that has never been a sv hunter theme is my point, those are indicative of engineering which is a profession. The whole tinker idea is cool and all but its more of a hero ideology than a baseline specialization ideology.

The SV baseline is just explosions and melee skills.

Explosions… come via technology.

Melee skills (like, actually learning to do something deliberate, beyond wildly swinging things about like an ape)… come via technique.

Or…

  • leatherworking/skinning (using a shadowcat cloak, wolfhawk talons, deathadder venom, etc.), or
  • inscription/enchanting (applying runes to arrows for an arcane shot or a phase arrow, etc.), or
  • mining/blacksmithing (coldiron arrow-tips for draining magical buffs, silver for supernaturals, meteorite for enwilding one’s magic),

or what-have-you, yes, but Hunter is about the only class (or arguably even the only spec) that can really leverage that across multiple areas and in combat-specific ways.

  • Don’t get me wrong; I wouldn’t dislike seeing a mechagnome Warrior able to extendopunch Pummel something or rocket-boots Charge to leave himself unrootable mid-flight, or a Tauren Warrior to be able to take on synergetic trinkets, or a Rogue to be better able to disguise their scent via something picked up via leatherworking, but even after wanting that for various classes, Hunter (and especially Survival therein, which makes it far harder to support as a hero class) has been the only one to be able to really nexus so much potential.

It could be, and could likely fit as a MM/SV in place of Sentinel (imo, likely the worst-leveraged of any hero spec), but my point was that Survival could fit more than just that and could therefore have a really fun pairing of “Man vs. Wild” in the sense of bringing more “mankind” (training, technology, innovation, strategy) or more “wild” (instinct, aspects, ramps, procs, etc.).

SV hunter uses what tools they need to do to get the job done. All there is to it :stuck_out_tongue:

i’m not sure why you think my suggestion would be the full extent of the class lol I’d assume it would have more than 1 button and 1 cd. Survival already has or had many of the elements I’m suggesting, like poisons, bleeds, and pet attacks.

It’s basically only find a replacement for wild fire bomb, which would be the stormstrike esque ability, and add a glowing red-animation to takedown lol.

Beyond that, there are other avenues to develop the theme. They could make strike as one something interesting, rather than a boring passive. I’d like to see it be a reactive proc, I think that would add some interesting gameplay to the spec.

They could reintroduce butchery, or make glaives used across the spec as other people mentioned to thematically tie it more into sentinel tree, and then add a replacement or enhancement to the sentinel tree. They could have any of the above add a bleed and/or a poison.

It’s not hard, and it’s not all that different from today it’s just without wfb. It’s not “70% of a warrior.” You and (particularly) asthelon just love to condescend on these forums lol. which fyi, is something many notice, even those that like bombs and why all of these threads devolve into this nonsense of asthelon going back and forth with one person
