I agree with OP in that Shadow is fun right now, but it has a ton of issues. Did it need a “blizzard rework”? Probably not, not to the degree of Ret at least. I hardly call this a rework, it’s literally a hard stripping and multiple nerfs.
Shadow was too overwhelming and hard for a lot of people in this thread so they are basically ok with any change. And also, many don’t PvP, so losing stuff like Damnation and Void Eruption/DA cast-time does not affect them. All I saw on the PTR was stripping of tools with no creativity or compensation, which is what you always get from Blizzard particularly in regards to Shadow.
If people don’t like the DoT + procs playstyle, that’s why there are talent trees so why not dedicate thought to making alternative tree builds? Instead, they remove the proc and mindbender build entirely. You are still going to be using the same build after the rework that they pigeon hole you into now LOL. For example, they could have given you the option to pick Void Torrent or Mind Spike and then the next talent be some kind of upgrade for Void Torrent OR the proc build for Mind Spike. It doesn’t flat out remove the Mind Spike playstyle, but leaves something for the other player. Shadow Crash did not even need to be touched, it was perfect as is. They had “Dark Void” which was a complete trash ability that just needed to be buffed. Instead, they hard nerfed Shadow Crash and the talent tree in general and people in here and on the forum are actually fawning over the changes. It’s just sad, really.
See and I think it’s things like this; so it’s no offense but everyone that loves it is also like a high end player, too. The better you get at this game the more stimulation you need in order to feel satisfied, and then blizzard needs to work harder or else you’re just too bored.
It’s a gift and a curse at the same time, a gift because you’re better at the game and can do more things, and it’s a curse because now you need more stimulation in order to be satisfied which will lead to even more things needing to be done to satisfy and then even more and more, it’s a never ending cycle that actually does not end.
Yeah and I don’t think players should actually need that much information in order to play the game good. There’s “not enough information” “the right information” and “too much information” and this version of Shadow is both the first in regards to things like procs, fillers n stuff and especially like this to newer players, then there’s too much information which is also what shadow is to newer players because so many things happen at once you just can’t keep up.

I do agree with this, as there is a big problem with blizzard UI in that you need other addons in order to get a good UI and good tracking when it should actually be in the game itself.
That said, it’s at least better now and coming in 10.1 better than it was in 9.0, 8.0, 7.0 and so on and such.
What do you need to track exactly…? It glows when you can use it. The only thing I had a Weak Aura for was Mind Melt so I don’t have to look in the top right. I do agree for that, they should let you move which buffs you want to where ever you want without having to move the whole buff row.

You bring everything Up, One class will still be broken.
Bring them all down to equal footing, the gap will be extremely minimal only regarding to gear, cause Dpsing/Healing should be a steady Climb Up, Not a sudden spike, cause some ability went BRRRRRR

As a strictly pvper I am very disheartened to see the current state of shadow and am even more troubled by the looks of the nerfs….ehhm rework that is incoming for spriest…. There is time between now and then but I’m all out of hopium.
