Because its not your normal forum poster wondering why this ridiculous decision is being made to not have Wrath and TBC servers available to play.
So the people making permanent wrath classic server era threads are not normal people. Well, no one is really normal. So I donāt even know what you are talking about there. Like what does a normal forum poster look like.
I rarely complain about anything on the forums. Not much annoys me. But not being able to play wrath classic permanently is a huge let down for me. I have basically let every other decision I found stupid slide. No big deal. Whatever.
I was on the permanent wrath server side for a long timeā¦ but now?
Our server has died out so much, itās harder every day to find groups for anything.
I am not sure that the WoW player base is big enough to support even 1 or 2 server types for permanent wrath servers.
The game is too divided with so many different versions to chose from.
But I would still support a perma wrath server if they went that route, which for the ones who want it, I hope that happens, but I still wonder how viable it really would be.
I think that is the biggest issue nobody is talking aboutā¦
We went from 1 version (2018) to 5 versions (2024) and people still request MOOOOOOREEE
Yeah the whole classic thing has been amazing, but the classic āseasonsā has me scratching my head. SoD gutted my server and so many guilds
Iām good one way or another with a perma wrath server, but I really do wonder how badly it would affect small servers like mine.
I honestly tried SOD and classic plus. Like in my op, they are terrible. And I never liked vanilla classic. I always wanted permanent wrath classic servers since the beginning.
I get ya. SoD held no appeal to me at all, and classic was mehā¦ even the vanilla OG was meh lol.
It got interesting to me in TBC (OG), then REALLY started loving WoW in OG Lich King because of the spirit beasts, of all things lol.
Just curious, do you have a source that backs up the claim about people flooding to private servers?
There was a big drop starting with Cat but itās not clear if that was because of content or the fact that Facebook came out about that time starting the Social Media craze.
To me, the appeal and spirit of WoW classic (regardless of classic, TBC or LK iteration) is the original, intact, pre-Cataclysm world.
Azeroth has been in the post-Cataclysmic state for what, roughly twice as long as it was in its original form? Why is there any need to revisit Azerothā¦ as it is right nowā¦ on retail? I donāt want the broken Azeroth. At all. Cataclysm āclassicā just is no longer classic. Itās just retail with old mechanics.
Iām grateful for the classic era servers as a point of preservation. I donāt understand at all forcing LK players to progress to a Cataclysm Azeroth, so I hope that a WotLK āmegaserverā (as suggested) exists to preserve Azeroth and the game in its most progressed state before the old world was made completely incoherent.
TBC would be nice too.
Classic Era will always have the original Azeroth.
And rumor is Azeroth is getting another revamp in Retail. If that happens, then the Cata/MoP/etc servers will be the only way to experience that version.
Day 272838372 asking for this, just 1 server. Thatās all Blizzard.
I mean, this is MY only forum post because itās exactly the reason I came to the forums.
I abhor the idea of dumping to Cata and would pay a transfer fee to a dedicated WotLK server. I only came back to retail WoW and started a serious character under the assumption Iād be playing WotLK exclusively.
I probably will not continue on a Cata server and if Classic:HC doesnāt pan out for me then I donāt need Battle.net anymore, either.
So what was lost going from TBC to Wrath? Iām doing Wrath now and Iām still back in Classic Vanillia zones. Havenāt even made TBC zones yet and it seems to be working.
āWe have so much credit card debt put into our charactersā
There fixed that for you.
I would be happy to stay at a WotLK version.
honestly would love to see perm wrath servers. I didnt actually get to experience wotlk - I had life issues that kept me from the launch etc so coming into it at the end is super sad when its so empty (I dont do pvp servers so getting on the high pop realms is a no go for me).
The only thing I like from Cata is worgen ( love the form and the starting area) but everything else - the start of the squishes etcā¦ can just f off.
Same. I would literally pay to transfer to a permanent ever-Wrath-era realm.
I wonāt be playing āclassicā beyond Wrath. I will pay to remain on a Wrath realm.
/2 WTB Wrath era Realm.
The problem with that is once blizzard charges people to play on a wrath era realm they canāt delete it in a few months if itās dead and losing money. They have to keep it active for a significant amount of time no matter what losses they take.
I would to. Maybe even extra.
