Idk how you’ll handle Paladins having a taunt button then though.

yeah as great as taunt is it should be noted that it’s in no way necessary to tank 5 man dungeons 
The default argument for someone who can’t articulate why they believe what they do. Irony is guys like you have caused way more damage to the game than the people you argue against have.
Prot Paladins are actually the #1 Threat Gen in the game via GBoK Spam, they don’t need taunt, even though it’d certainly help, they really need a defensive CD.
If they added a Libram that gives mana back on block and a paladin trinket that gave forbearance for a shield wall on a 30-minute CD they could raid tank.
You can already OT very well and are the best at holding lots of mobs at once due to the GBoK Spam.

Deep down you know that would not be what takes place; we only need to observe what they do rather than what they say to see the outcome of blizzard decision making first hand. Behold; SoD, all be it a decent game on its own, but very far removed from “Vanilla”.

they cant even wait 6 months for the strongest tank spec that ever exists to grace the game, almost a shame because TBC paladin in PVE is one of the best reasons to play TBC.
As for Vanilla; we’re great in a variety of different ways… Is Paladin lacking taunt occasionally annoying and limiting? Sure… But would taunt fix the other issues for Prot paladin PVP That would turn up such as but not limited to a non-intuitive way to manage mana in Pre-TBC; its fully possible and I know for sure how to do it without going OOM and hold threat VS wizard cleaves, but there is an inevitable problem that ALL paladin Tank hopefuls would come to find… There is no raid gear suitable for Tank paladin in “Vanilla” outside of a few dungeon drops and offset Prot Warrior loot.
The fact that the only Tier items that are of any use being T2 due to its spell damage stats and reasonably high AC while still being woefully low HP Vs a comparably geared Prot warrior / Bear druid is a serious problem; especially in raids like AQ 40 and Naxx where bosses hit considerably harder; any paladin healer knows how spikey a health pool gets VS certain bosses…
Because with “Taunt” the certainty of paladins then wanting to Raid MT is also incoming and then the deluge of “we need gear” posts…
As you’re fully well aware TBC is the best part foreward for the Paladin Tank main, and frankly TBC raids are 20X better than most of the “Vanilla” raids.

It’s literally just a paladin that saw warriors have something and wanted it too. You have several examples of warrior obsessed paladins who feel they have been slighted by the existence of warriors and presumably being told by them that if they want to raid they need to heal.
You are right, a taunt would be just a bandaid that does little to make protection a thing in vanilla. Paladins make up for it in other ways, but it just isn’t the way people want it to. Paladins wearing plate = tank. Paladin uses big sword = dps. They are better off rolling something else

I mean, they added dual spec to the anniversary realm, which was a small requested change and last i checked the servers aren’t being burnt to the ground.
They also changed the honor system and that change probably impacted the game significantly more than what minor class tweaks would ever do yet people aren’t losing their mind over it because turns out having thousands of warriors running around in AQ quality gear before AQ kind of trivializes content.
They already proved they can make changes to the game without turning it into SoD.

You’re not honest, just somebody mad about paladins because they weren’t good in Shadowlands and you never let it go.
Right SoD was explicitly “we’re going to try a bunch of crazy stuff” anniversary is “we have a handful of changes that by and large the community wants”
