Pitched that same idea during beta, soul rot cleaving drain life no longer makes sense without Inevitable Demise.
Honestly, i’m glad ID is gone cause but it should be updated to cleave spells that actually matter , like our real fillers.
Also, soul rot and vile taint should be instant, phantom singularity should either become a 30s/1min cd to line better with everything else (same for oblivion).
And finally our dots, i’m tired of this random mismatched duration between dots.
First we’ve got agony being 24 and the whole 30s vile taint charade, corruption being perma in pve only makes siphon life a no go option unless gigabuffed ( not to mention in pvp corruption isnt perma and can have varying durations from 15s wither to 24s based on talent choice) and finally UA being 1 target and 16s.
It would be nice if all our dots were universally the same duration , would be nice to refresh dots at the same time rather than play the juggling game ( far more relevant in pvp due to lower duration corr), also UA target cap removal? Why must it still be 1 target when we’re no longer playing legion aff? It’s basically a 1 target vampiric touch with no additional benefits.
Picture this :
-
UA target uncapped, ua/corr/agony base duration increased to 30s.
-
Seed of corruption instant cast 30s cd that applies UA/corr/agony to targets hit.
-
Soul rot cd down to 30s, instant cast, now cleaves off shadowbolt/drain soul.
-
Vile taint removed , it’s dot and utility curse application are now a passive subchoice node that’s applied via soul rot.
-
Phantom singularity removed, it’s healing and 10% damage increase are now a subchoice node with vile taint under soul rot, this choice node removes soul rot’s multi dot aoe but empowers it’s primary dot by 30% ( or something), basically aoe vs st choice nodes.
Now doesn’t that look fluid ? everything lines up perfectly , soul rot being instant and 30s along with seed and dots all fitting together with our primary filler cleave, this smoothes all issues with aoe and gives purpose to seed beyond it’s previous mild application.
