Please give us the whole retail UI

Please just make everything the same across all the games. The classic UI has always been terrible. Just convert the whole thing.

Doing bits and pieces at a time because a 45 year old man child is going to have an autistic breakdown is ridiculous.

Just convert the whole thing. I was excited to hear the updated the UI in BC today to find it was just the nameplates… smh

It was more than just the nameplates. It was the nameplates, the raid/party frames and the totem icons underneath the player frame for shamans.

How about no?
Blizzard could just leave Classic alone and cease to break their end of the deal.

OSRS would have a vote on this issue, but these devs? they’re from an area where control is life

There was never any “deal”. Right from the start, already in 2019, the initial release of Classic used the Legion client - with the new default raid frames and multiple other then-retail features. Not to mention that Classic was released as a 1.12 emulation instead of the proper progression starting with 1.0.

So if people wanted no changes, they would never play the Legion engine emulation at all. Just saying.

Too late it’s 2026 people want a baseline UI that looks good and works well like retail. Buffs and debuffs need some updating but that’s it.

Not everyone has time or care to update 200 addons to get a UI that looks decent.

If the deal is broken for you, why haven’t you left?

Yeah, this was one of the main reasons I quit retail after OG Mists. Having to deal with broken UI elements and lua errors and the script kiddie inefficient, FPS-halving code practices used by addon developers was too much. I only resubbed to WoW when Blizzard made it playable with zero addons. Blizzard made a terrible mistake in 2004 by hiring people who never once played any MMO and allowing them to develop the UI.

I wish they would have really went heavy handed with it and gutted them all.

for years people have participated in RWF with addons shouting telling them exactly what to.

Addons that automatically undercut, scan for rare mobs, enemy players etc.

It’s all BS.

Auto undercutting is necessary since otherwise you’d have to manually type in the price for all the stuff that accumulates in your bags from just playing the game. I want the AH experience to be a click and forget one. Luckily, in retail that is exactly the case, it auto undercuts for you. So Blizzard ended up copying the Auctionator addon essentially.

Boss warnings are also needed because all they do is tell you that the boss or some player has a critical buff/debuff on them. If this isn’t possible, then 100% of the boss fight is spent staring at the spot on your screen where your debuffs appear, and that is anti fun.

You need like 4 addons dude. Nameplates, unit frames, action bar addon, dbm/bigwigs/weakauras (pick your poison) but weakauras lets you make like, basically every other addon in the game anyway sooooo. Everything else is unnecessary. You don’t NEED them to play the game.

Idk why you guys are so hyperbolic. “uhhh you need so many addons to play it ruins the game”

Blizz killing addons in retail is why I’ll never play it again. They can’t provide anything close to equivalent to even just BASIC ui requirements.

You actually NEED other things. Auctionator/Auctioneer/anything to automatically undercut is mandatory because the default non-retail UI cannot auto undercut, in fact without AH addons you aren’t even shown the per-stack lowest posted price of whatever you are trying to list.

You need, as you correctly named it, an addon for nameplates, but only if you’re tanking and only if you’re tanking trash and not the boss (to see threat deficit as a number next to each nameplate). All other classes, even affli and shadow, can raid just fine without nameplate addons.

As an enchanter with alts who keep looting greens, you need an addon to show what they DE into. The best addon for this was just broken by the 2.5.6 TBCA update by the way.

You don’t, even as a healer, need any raid frame addon.

Sounds like YOU need nameplates, unit frames, action bar addon, and a encounter suite + most likely weak auras.

… You do, you just mentioned them. You also have to constantly keep them updated on top of working through errors upon error because theres 10 different versions of WoW and all use different UIs.

You’re just one of those people that don’t like anything besides what you are comfortable with.

You don’t NEED an auction addon. It works fine. Just like I don’t NEED LFG bulletin board but I use it because I’m not interested in reading the spam in LFG chat.

Nameplates are important for debuff tracking in aoe regardless of if you’re tanking or not.

I don’t like playing with a ui that can’t track my buffs/debuffs/trinkets in a way that makes even the slightest sense. And even less when it’s been completely crippled by developers who thought they knew more than they did.

Or they could just put in the retail UI and ban weak auras and dbm like retail

You’re the one choosing to interact. I don’t care. This is my thread and opinion, You’re welcome to leave.

The retail ui is garbage sorry.

I’m glad you like it but maybe grow up and understand people like different things. You can have the retail ui on retail or wherever else you want it. Leave me and my ui alone.

https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Fe81rg8whawsg1.png This was 3 months ago btw. So the retail ui OBVIOUSLY still doesn’t cover everything it needs to.

Dang you okay? You have edited this like 4 times. I can’t even keep up to reply.

Lolwut? Any credibility of your comments just went out the window. With the default TBCA AH UI, you cannot auto undercut and you cannot even see the lowest posted stack price for the stack you’re trying to list. So creating just one listing requires you do use an actual calculator rofl.

No trash lives long enough to survive one round of affli/shadow dots. Tanks and healers don’t need to see any debuffs on the nameplates.

You can still use the AH without an addon. It’s not required to play the game. The actual game. The part that the retail ui went out of it’s way to cripple.

Nobody cares about trash though, you still need to see debuffs in aoe on boss fights.

There are 4 required addons for gameplay. Everything else is QoL/personal preference. Like all those accessibility addons that don’t work on retail anymore.

Actually…some of us just use 1. Elvui. I didn’t ask for the changes. I found my all in one already. Like the stock old UI…have at it lol. Or yeah…elvui. I’ve been a loyal user since legion lol.

2nd add on Capping. For timers in BG like av tower burns. I have that the most paradoxical add on in wow. the paradox is even the most devout add on haters are probably the dudes the worst at asking for time reports for it in BG every minute lol.

Many like me…just installed the add on and stopped asking.
