Please don’t simp for a AAA company; more testing was needed. This game is not waiting on new content, or reeling from lack of content or getting bimonthly balance and system updates; Instead this was the museum for what wow started off as. Because this is not a game in active development, there is no rush and in turn no excuse for going live with bugs.
TLDR: take your time and do it right.

it would be dumb to have 2 different iterations of vanilla theres already alot of changes on era new season should be no changes vanilla
Yes, there are already many changes from Vanilla to Classic Era.
The /whistle, the /spit, the updated graphics (water, grass, shadows etc), the recent PvP changes, the chronoboom, etc; A whole laundry list of changes.
So we might as well allow Blizzard to go full on bonkers with “ClassicEra PLUS” and continue adding and changing things for the new-age zoomies WHILE us 30+ year old boomers petition for Blizzard to begin offering a literal unchanged 1.12.1 versions of server(s) where we can live in nostalgia forever without them continually disappointing us with their changes.

the new-age zoomies WHILE us 30+ year old boomers
[/quote] older millennials are pushing 40.
Genx is coming up on 60.
As someone who is solidly genx I have very little interest in a no changes server. I’d much prefer modern conveniences with the older content

Speak for yourself. The amount of people asking for an unchanged 1.12 version of the game I can count on one hand. And that hand was in a freak table saw incident. I’m all for classic plus. I’m also for changes coming into classic, as long as they changes embody the core values of classic WoW. Speaking from a 35+ year old.
You’re both just making stuff up it’s not like either of you have any data on interest in such a server
Search classic+ or classic plus, vs searching for 1.12.
Do you want to beta test classic? I sure as heck dont want to.
People had/have a perma 1.12 server. Why would they be in the forums asking for what they have? They’re playing the game. Of course classic + hypothetical dreams would have more posts. Only blizzard has actual data for what people want or why they’re subscribing.

I use to Alpha and Beta test for Blizzard games when they came up, I stopped doing so in Legion Alpha because it was VERY obvious that modern blizzard at that point stopped giving a crap. It was fairly obvious in WoD alpha that blizzard was kinda iffy on a lot of stuff at that point… WoD alpha was effectively the last time they sorta took any feedback seriously, after that its painfully obvious that they straight up don’t care.

You’re totally right … plus as I said in another thread:
The only one of these changes, that actually WERE in the PTR was the new Options interface - the new character create screen was live exactly one day. All the other changes went live with the patch.
The one thing they did not implement - what I have seen and complained about in the PTR - was trainer marked with a book in the mini-map.
We can all tell which one you main and which one you’re merely a tourist, though.
I love being called a tourist by a level 30 alt who just returned a month ago.

The forward facing avatar means nothing, as I imagine you’d well agree with. I choose to face this new era character outward because I forgot to/didn’t clone my character and I think Wrath Classic (and by extension, retail) are an abomination.
I can switch to others characters to post but it really doesn’t change anything, this is the one I play and care about right now. Era, and only era.
Comments like this are how you can tell someone with zero domain knowledge are talking.
If Blizz were designing from the ground up, yes.
But that isn’t the case here and we know that, and legacy code and architecture is hard enough to muck with in general software, let alone software to scale, let alone an MMO, let alone one where the original maintainers are mostly long gone.
Moving legacy code forward and/or changing it is VERY notorious for being mistake/bug prone, as is doing so in VM/containers, which Blizz has been doing for a good few years now with their pivot to AWS.
Simply put, it isn’t that people are “simping for blizzard” so much as that they’re just being more reasonable than you are. But the fact that you DO lack domain knowledge and only see a front facing bug here and there is, ironically, a sign that the OPPOSITE is happening; that the devs are able to largely work in this space, despite many MANY logistics barriers, and still maintain the majority of abstraction away from the end user.
And if you did have domain knowledge? Well, then you’d realize how absurd your statement was and, if a reasonable person, wouldn’t have made it
Because you would have known better!
Dunning, meet Kruger!
This game is a reproduction, only the art assets are actually original. They literally had to build a new database based on the OG database. The core of the game is retail tho, (game engine and server)
The database itself is also “NEW” its not old, and this is why early Classic 2019 had lots of bugs, because the way the old spells worked was not exactly cooperative with the new systems. Those bugs took a while to fix, and this is why many people are rather upset about the quality level decrease of this patch because years ago all the bugs were squashed (basically)
Blizzard very clearly spelled this out for us in the making of Classic, this is not conjecture but actual fact.
However with that said, there is no good reason to make excuses for low quality of any kind at any point ever.
Mistakes can and will happen, but this can be mostly avoided via high quality testing, and QA.

Yet again your ignorance is insane lol
Doesn’t even feel like the same game anymore. Classic ERA was bumping and so alive. No it just feels dead, the constant lag everytime you try to turn in/accept quests, craft, pick up items. Can’t invite people to groups properly. Man, what were they even thinking the last couple of days? I know they never will, but would be so nice if they just reverted everything back to the way it was and stopped messing with this version of the game guess I’ll check out HC tomorrow and see how that goes.
