Please fix threat

I usually go big. But as a perma-Devastation player, big is the only option.

When doing LFR for renown since in lockout extend time, I usually end up tanking the bosses for the first 20~30 seconds until a tank decides to taunt because usually it takes a tank with just as much gear or more to hold threat on openers even with 4 GCDs of average damage before the big boom on ST or 6~7 GCDs before the big boom on AoE.

Wordup just posted an article, he said he is consider that threat is number 1 for Enhancement in M+. I am not surprised with this.

Raid tanks like to keep their taunts available to deal with tank swaps, not to save DPS who can’t keep it in their pants.

That said, Devastation is a badly-designed spec because of its on-pull frontloading.

(Oh, who are we kidding? Evoker in general is a badly-designed class. Easily the worst-designed class in the game.)

But big number. If the stars align and the entire opener crits you’re looking at 70-90mil single target damage in 5 GCDs or technically 4 if you manage to get the living flame on prepull, which all of it gets delayed in M+ as just using living flame on the primary target until the tank stops.

He made these GIF weeks ago or something. Enhancement is extremely sensitive to ripping threat. Totemic can do 110M+ DPS on a big pull during cooldown and ripping threat on random mobs. Even with either Rogue’s perma trick and Hunter’s MD, Enhancement will still rip threat because Rogue and Hunter don’t do burst damage like Enhancement. Stormbringer is even worse than Totemic due to aggressive funneling on AoE from Primordial Storm, Doom Winds and Ascendance with multiple Tempest.

It’s getting so bad, a lot of Enhancement Shaman players don’t want to play because they just die and release to the spawn. It’s not fun at all.

Because they went too soon. Its amazing that cleaving mobs with 4-5 back to back AoE crits pulls threat from a tanks single AoE

No, Enhancement don’t use Doom Winds and Primordial Storm straightaway. Totemic scales very very hard on the target count. Sundering (via manual Sundering and Hot Hands) trigger Windfury Weapons each hit. Windfury Weapons will procs Flametongue Weapons that hit ALL nearby mobs. Flametongue Weapons as Totemic hits really hard. Primordial Storm is 3 physical hits and uncapped AoE, that means trigger 3 windfury weapons on each mob. Good luck for holding aggro for Totemic Enhancement Shaman.

Yeah my 650 enh alt rips threat off tanks incredibly easily and I’m 20 ilvl below and only have a 2 piece.

Yeah, Totemic is 100% impossible for tanks holding aggro so we have been running Stormbringer because we can play around threat mechanics as Stormbringer, that’s feeling awful

For DPS’ers, Learn2Assist the Tank. For the Tank, Learn2Focus on the Main Target.

The Tank loses aggro becoz the Tank is focusing on a wrong Target. The DPSer gets aggro becoz he is not Assisting the Tank. The Tank and the DPS should be focusing on the same Target.

If a trash mob, gets separated to the mobs being cleaved by the Tank, if you nuke that trash mob, that trash would start focusing on you. If it’s a melee mob, have it chase you towards the Tank. If it’s a Range mob, interrupt them and hope it runs towards you. Have it chase you towards the Tank. Also you can KNOCK THEM BACK towards the Tank like kicking the football Bomb (Motherlode) to the Tank. That’s what Bursting Shot do with Hunters. If Hunters don’t know this, YES, he has a SKILL issue. Hunter is a Class Easy to play, Hard to Master.

But theres Shamans running Totemic in much higher keys, doing much more damage than you + Stormbringer, and tanks are holding threat.

I was Totemic one-trick and realised that I can’t play Totemic in keys because of threat mechanics. I had to learn Stormbringer and if you see a lot of Enhancement plays Stormbringer in Cinderbrew. You know there’s something wrong because Cinderbrew should be Totemic key

Skill issue. Whether yours or the tanks, thats what it comes down to.

Theres Enhancements out there doing higher keys and considerably more damage/burst than you were and they werent ripping aggro from their tanks.

Because all Enhancement in high key are playing Stormbringer and they can play around the threat mechanics. Totemic can’t play around the threat mechanics because Totemic is more frontloaded and scales on the target count like crazy. Totemic WILL rip threat on random mobs in a big pull.

while there is threat issues, its not at this level. alot of the tanks your encountering are just really bad

i like how this thread appears every weak and every random tank i see who say they have threat issues and blizzard should fix. always end up misplaying by such a degree on logs that its a no brainer on why they have threat issues

Someone in Shaman discord said anyone who plays Totemic don’t manage to rip threat in M+, they are not playing Totemic correctly. I have to play Stormbringer in M+ to manage the threat and play around that.
