PLEASE FIX The Troll and Draenei Heritage Sets, Don't Force These

Please don’t shatter my dreams. We both cling to the same vine… hope

I’m sure someone’s linked it already here so I won’t, but the Draenei one is based on one of the original race arts. It’s at least got that going for it.

The Troll mask one, yeah Idk what they were thinking on that one.

My Draenei wife described the Troll face mask as something I cannot repeat here and now I can’t unsee it…

Actually I don’t think anyone has, if you’ve got the clearance to post images please do. I’m familiar with it, it was a decent choice, really should have had a male and female choice like the concept art.

The Troll set is a mish mash of some of the worst parts of various sets throughout the RTS and some art.

It would have made a better belt than the one we got, at least there wouldn’t be any clipping XD

Instead of dissing troll and draenei players, join in, we’re on the same wagon, no?

NoOooooo, why’d you go there

But this cloth would fit more to be part of the kilt, it has identical texture. So he is not wrong.

But if you’re talking about physics and how it would sway around… Well…
ehem…

Everyone listen up, I just want to say thank you to all of you for your overwhelming support in trying to get this set fixed, we’ve gotta try to make them see reason and we have only a short time to do that. Blizz has a way of sticking to their guns on this kind of thing and we’ve got to do the same until this issues is resolved. They’re willing to die on this hill, so too must we be also. THANK YOU ALL FOR YOU HELP AND SUPPORT.

You’re most welcome! And thank you! We keep at it till the job is done. No retreat no surrender.

We’re with you! Thanks for your appreciation!

Posting for support. I haven’t leveled my troll alt up yet for that quest chain, so I can’t comment for sure.

But the Draenei set was nearly insulting. I have a mog I’m using that uses the chest, gloves and one shoulder. That is the best I could do. The rest is unusable (the boots are usable, but mid. Looks like BC questing gear).

Actually, the whole set looks like bc questing gear, but remastered. The helmet especially is a complete atrocity. Horns clipping through, no consideration for my face tentacles… no Draenei would unironically wear that.

And again with the half-coat skirt thing… it has NEVER worked on fem Draenei, and it sure as hell doesn’t work on their freaking heritage set. It completely borks their silhouette and ruins their curves. Yknow, the curves they are famous for?

If this was based on the concept art, they missed so badly I don’t even have the words. It looks nothing like it. Wearing this full set, I look like some traveling merchant selling snake oil and fake trinkets.

I love Draenei. Favorite race in the game. And their heritage set feels like it was made by someone who was forced to do it even tho they don’t like Draenei.

A Heritage Set should be designed to accommodate the biological feature of the race it was designed for full stop. This shouldn’t be a controversial take and it should be considered radical to insist that effort be put into the product we’re paying for. If you can’t handle launching Heritage quest chains with a content patch and if you don’t have the resources to do a good job, just wait until you do, or at the very least have the respect to your customers to fix the bad product and admit when you’ve made a mistake.

Full agree.

If the troll heritage set is as borked as the Draenei set, then light help us.

I haven’t done it yet so can’t speak from personal experience, but judging by the pictures prior to the release it looks like the mask covers some key features for trolls (the nose/tusks).

Ugh.

I don’t understand what happened. Historically, the heritage sets were some of the best in the game, generally very loyal to the theme and builds of the races they were made for. But they missed the mark with the Worgen set (imho), and now with Draenei and Troll? What is going with blizz artists here?

Ye. If it was just a wooden mask, then it can cover the nose, if it’s a cloth mask, it should go under the nose. There is plenty of reference pictures and artworks.
Ideally there should be 2 options for head slot item, Rush’kah and head cloth. But they decided to cram the two together and we have a mess.

It’s frustrating because items like these :

Already did the job veryy well of covering the mouth, but keeping the nose out. And it looked very nice.
So they could’ve cut a part of this item and just slap it on the troll, and it would be fine.

Honestly the quest is good, I wouldn’t say this. It delves into the issues the Darkspears have had, basically being overshadowed by both the Zandalari and Vol’jin, not getting a chance to stand on their own.

Frankly I think Vol’jin not being brought up is a plus. The Darkspear aren’t just Vol’jin, him showing up would have been a mistake. Rokhan even brings it up when he mentions he’s been living in Vol’jin’s shadow this whole time.

Now, the masks aren’t great, but the quest is def up there as one of the better ones.

I agree that Rokhan should have his time to shine as the new leader and he did. With that said if Blizzard hadn’t imbued Vol’Jins spirit with Rezans and put him in a wild seed pending rebirth it would make sense to ignore him since he’d just be flat out dead. But he’s not just flat out dead a multi expansion spanning quest chain has been building up to his return, they literally incorporated Bwonsamdi and Mue’zala who were directly tied to Vol’Jins plot line, from a cultural and leadership perspective moving on from Vo’Jin makes perfect sense. That said we absolutely should have gotten an update on the most important multi expansion spanning Darkspear plot point we have going not really sure how you could suggest otherwise to be frank.

They can both be moved on from him as a leader and in all likelihood would be making offerings to him in the hopes that he would become a Loa, that is how true voodoo works one can become a loa after death and they most assuredly would be trying to make that a reality. Much of the quest was great but pretending Vol’Jin didn’t exist was a mistake.

Ye I also think a simple mention from Bwonsamdi that Darkspear may expect a new powerful friend soon, should be enough.

But Wrenchester also makes a good point. I also share similar mindset, Vol’Jin is gone, what was done it was done and tribe has to manage without him. Vol’Jin won’t be returning as Darkspear Cheiftain, so we have to focus on Rokhan and make him grow into the role and be slightly different than Vol’Jin.

So in this regard it was a step in right direction, It’s especially plesant for me as I love Rokhan’s voice actor and it’s always a pleasure to hear him speak. But I also believe that there could’ve been more done.

It was also a missed opportiunity to speak about Darkspear’s loyalty and what they achieved and it would’ve been nice gesture to actually have Talanji visit him, and remind him that she still remembers how the tribe was crucial in defending her home, and that said loyalty pays off, and now they can think on how to expand their influence - together.

It would’ve been a nice throwback to Zandalari heritage where Rokhan was also briefly present. But he was still there as honored quest.
