This is a catch-22. I would argue that they are the least played right now because everyone knows they are inferior.

I play both mistweaver and resto shaman as well. It doesn’t make any sense to me why I can spam heal a dungeon on my shaman without ever worrying about mana, but I go oom every other pull on my monk. The shaman brings better HPS, more utility, more damage, and better CDs. All that and my shaman never has to venture into melee range to deal with spiteful or storming. It really feels like Blizz has just given up on mistweavers for now.

Even if HPS was a good indicator of raid performance, that data shows mw at the bottom for most fights except the “KT cheese”. And the samples size is too small to draw any meaningful conclusions. Some of those fights have less than 10 mw parses.
No one has to be this far last.

I just recently moved to Illidan after having been a very casual roleplayer for many years and was so excited to finally be able to raid and play my favourite class, but the obvious mana problem is ruining that for me.
And it is an obvious problem.
Been leveling up a different healing class even though I don’t want to just to be able to do higher keys because I refuse to let a group down because I simply can’t keep them up.
There’s a difference between being last in a close race, and being the slow gazelle in a stampede.

I thought the fistweaving spec was fairly mana efficient, but I could be wrong. Maybe they just need to increase the throughput on that setup, and the hard cast mana hungry setup can still be used for fights like sun king.
Mistweavers could use some love. Resto Shaman could probably stand a nerf, to be honest.

I really feel for MW right now. We have one in my guild and we did an M+ with him healing. Poor dude struggled noticeably with mana. At one point the tank we had to snag out of guild went ballistic on him and left. Poor dude was asking if he really “sucked that bad”. We had to assure him that it definitely wasn’t him, the class just had issues right now. After that I helped backup heal for him by dropping random HoT’s and Wild Growths as I Boomy’d and we made it through but man, no one should have that kind of stress while playing a class. They definitely need a tweak.
