I mained Afflock for many expansions now, and I’ve stuck with it through the good and the bad times.
But i really struggle to enjoy the spec in BFA, i tolerated it through legion because by the 2nd half it was pretty powerful.
I invested alot of time over the years into my warlock and i dont want to shelf it to find a spec i find engaging.
My issues with it are similar to what others have posted;
I dont like deathbolt/darkglare putting that much power into a 3min cooldown feels like it really hurts the spec outside of that.
UA stacking feels horrible.
And our talent choices are very lacking in choice, i dont kbow what its like for other classes, but the only real choice seems to be the second tier, dot choice, WiA, AC, SL.
Tier 1 talents have no choice, despite being a talent row the heavily defines your playstlye. Deathbolt over shadows both other choices so heavily and DS ends up being a DPS loss.
AoE feels non existance, and although i perfectly understand why we cany have super awesome AoE, we dont even have mediocre AoE. Boomkin and Spriests are also dot classes but they dont seem to be heavily inconvenienced in AoE as Afflocks are.
I want to enjoy playing my lock, i really do, but it doesnt feel fun or engaging this expansion and i feel that wont change till 9.0 if we’re lucky.
