Please don't take away Clash

It’s a somewhat silly ability, but it’s been one of my favorites since I started playing Brewmaster in Mists. It is very unfortunate to see it being planned to be removed in Midnight. I would very much not see a problem with keeping the ability as an option in that talent node, with a slight change to the logic to make it work more consistently. As a reference, there are some times where you cast Clash, and nothing happens, usually because either sometimes you are rooted, or the target is rooted/immune, or both! Sometimes I will randomly charge/Clash all the way to the target though!

I can recommend keeping this talent, and change it slightly, such that using the ability removes any roots/snares from the casting Monk, and gives you root/knockback/snare resistance for a short duration (the duration of the clash). If the target is either rooted or immune to pull effects, then you charge all the way to the target (as what sometimes happens currently). If you’re worried about this ability being toxic in PvP, make it work slightly differently in PvP and only be a only a charge or only a pull (I don’t PvP as much these days so please advise if I am off on this part of it).

it’s just is not great seeing the ability being removed entirely… fun detected…

Yeah, they take away the choice node ability people actually took and left the dead ability no one takes, ever.

I hope they at least change the ability to a skytouch where it works off of tp again instead of randomly off rolls.

It’s just too clunky imo. It barely works, half the time it stops me like 20 yards apart from my target, the minimum range is obnoxious. It would take a lot of work to make it work properly, and Blizzard doesn’t like when things take effort.

If we had a nickle every time blizzard removed a loved ability to bring back and then remove again we could have enough stake to cause blizz to care about this.

Clash is an amazing ability that doesnt deserve removal AGAIN

Feels like they aren’t just priming it for console, but so people who don’t really play the game can actually work on it.

Ideally it’s just cutting back to re-introduce abilities lost… Not some kind of attempt to make the game easier so they just have to focus on aesthetics. I see the logic in simplifying so you can give more attention to glyph and animations etc. Though I think it may be an attempt to also appeal to the type of players who actually never come back to wow after they quit, unlike the most of us here on forums.

I’m going to keep it real with you, thematically I really like clash, but every time I’ve tried to use it in a creative way it’s let me down.

Pruning abilities is dumb! Bring it back! We gonna lose ANOTHER pvp talent with an ability that will be removed and be down yet another PvP talent!

I would be more upset if it didnt constantly fail, have a crazy cool down and have so many restrictions.

This has to do with blizzards lack of bug fixes and implementation. None of that is at the fault of clash

Its been buggy for 10 years. If it was an easy fix it would have been fone by now.

Seems all the content creators and such are in resounding approval of everything, and actually hopeful it goes to console. You haven’t been bitten yet?

They’re trying to cut as many buttons as possible so console (and probably mobile too in the near future) plebs can play it with their 3 buttons

I’d like to see keefer’s reach again.

They got rid of it before and brought it back because monks wanted it back. Stupid if they are dropping it again.

I think core movement programming in the game is what causes bugs in clash. It is a fun ability, but too much can go wrong trying to force the enemy to move towards you.

great in pvp

I like Clash, but boy does it have its problems.

It just simply doesn’t work like half the time in PVP. It DRs with knockbacks for some reason and if someone uses a knockback on someone, that person is just immune to the Clash grip for 20sec. They are also immune to it if they happen to be rooted.

The worst part is that Clash still gets put on CD when it fails.

I feel like if they ever do bring Clash back, they need to address those issues for PVP.

With the changes for roots to be virtually instantly broken on mobs it makes Clash very unenjoyable. On top of all the bugs that make the talent virtually unplayable I’d be okay with it with it being completely reworked or replaced by a different ability taken in its place that fills the same niche. The ability to displace an enemy while also being another mobility option.
