A very minor vocal minority. I barely use any and i still prefer the option to keep what i have, as well as any i decide to use later.

What’s really happening here is that guys like OP aren’t understanding the argument that streamers and YouTubers are making, and are trying to advocate for their inherited opinion.
Just to be clear, the sane argument against addons is that their existence is dictating the encounter design when blizzard is making raids. This equates to an arms race between blizzard and the addons, and leads to this creeping increase in complexity over the years.
Ion has spoken on this at length, and he makes smart points.
However what OP is saying basically bastardizes the real argument in favor of this “equity” nonsense.

Right, but in some cases, i have friends who are impaired, one is nearly deaf, another colorblind, and so on, and addons let them play normally.
Banning all addons would literally be like removing wheelchair ramps in those cases.

If blizz doesnt think multiboxing is cheating, how the heck do you think theyd ever think addons that allow players who pay money to play, TO PLAY, should be removed?
Literally, people would unsub if certain addons went away. Blizz certainly isnt going to drop sub numbers over addons.

I’m not going to lie. I don’t really have much of a problem with addons. I just think they’re a crutch and it’s funny to watch people get all twisted up about them. You’d think they couldn’t play the game without the stupid things.
Some cant. I use GTFO. I may have DBM, but since i only raid sporadically, it doesnt do me that much good.
As i said above tho, some people with sensory issues use them to literally play normally.
No, I find it wrong that people mindlessly spread misinformation about addons and try to punish everybody because they don’t like 1 or 2 addons.
The addons I use don’t harm, anybody. I use them for cosmetic purposes. Should they already be in the game? I think so, but I doubt there’s a population that wants the same addons I use to be implemented into the game.
I’ve played without addons, before and I can do it, again. I just want to be able to make that choice and not somebody else.

I can understand being disappointed in some (not all) addons, but the solution isn’t to ban them all. That’s going to affect other people who aren’t involved in this whole DBM and/or Weak Auras debacle.

It’s not just you, there are others advocating for a ban of ALL addons. Blizz listens to feedback, as unpopular as that statement is, but I’ve seen it. So, I help to try to keep the focus on certain addons 'cause Blizz has nerfed certain addons, before via LFG for Vanilla Classic, along with Spy.
