I just race changed my draenei to a belf DK last week, because I wanted to use the name/rp for a lf draenei paladin. Should have just waited.
No interest in race changing today though, all new characters will be level 20 alts I’ll happily level.

When you pay for my game time, you can tell me what to do. Until then, I will happily do what I please.
Right.
Like if someone tells you, you shouldn’t stick your hand on the hot stove or you’ll get burned. And then you do it anyway because, “you can’t tell me what to do!” If you don’t want to listen, then go for it. Your spite isn’t hurting me lol.
I have paid for over 20 race changes over the years. I am okay with it, sometimes I buy one and just let it sit until I am ready to try something new.
leveling new races…ROFL no thanks. I can’t fathom a reason to level anything outside of 1 tank, 1 heal and 1 dps.
I mean you do you but that’s A LOT of excess capital expenditure.
I’m personally not interested in race changes at the moment so I wouldn’t buy them anyway.
I also see no reason to be mad about the release date of the new races since they never promised it at launch.
However there is a sticking issue for me: They are extremely expensive (aka price of entire game) in a game that charges by the month and by expansion.
Also, the alternative is to spend an entire month leveling a new character by doing content that you don’t want to do.
So they intentionally make the leveling process a hellish experience, then charge money for you to skip it. This seems like a scummy practice to me.
Since I don’t have the strongest of wills I’ll probably end up purchasing them in the future, but they are probably the worse aspect of the game for me.
I have no intention of purchasing a race change, or anything else for that matter. These guys get enough of my money as it is.
I wasn’t planning on it but since you told me not too and I have a perverse sense of humor… I might have to now.
Just because of your post I think I’ll do a race change as soon as I get the new ones unlocked. Thanks for reminding me.
By the way, I just realized that this can be done using gold and it is not really expensive to do it. Seriously 100k gold is WAAAAAAAY easier to farm than leveling a character to 120
But those druid forms tho
Um no! These are the type of transactions that are just fine. It’s the mounts and pets that should be earned in game that bother me.
I’m not a fan of micro transactions, especially in a subbed game. I do think blizzard is taking advantage a bit to much. Perfect example are these allied races released late in game. But over all there are a lot of good reasons for faction and race change. Be nice if we got a couple included with our account/ new expansion purchase. With all the new races and grind required, we should get at least one free race change.
Sounds like you cleaned out the tinfoil aisle at your local grocery store, lol!
First of all, most people who will be purchasing a race change probably already had their target characters at high level before BfA launched and would have purchased one even if these races were available at launch. Second, as with all Allied Races the heritage armor gives you every reason to level up a new character rather than race change or boost one. Third, they’ve already explained the delay and it had NOTHING to do with race changes, rather it was because Kul Tirans required as much work as creating a brand new race rather than an allied race, and when they decided to make KTs playable they decided it was only right to delay Zandalari until KTs were ready.
And finally, you spend your money the way you want, and I’ll spend mine the way I want. Deal? It’s none of your business if me or anyone else decides to use one of these account services, and you have no right to tell other people what to do with their own hard earned money.
I won’t be. 25$ for a toon with a wide load sticker on their back? no thank you.
It’s just gold, which is OK with me.
You realize that in the past when races were available at launch lots of people still paid for race changes, right?
OP you realize those races weren’t finished at launch?
Too late.
Psssh. They have been ready for years, YEARS I TELL YOU. It was all just a nefarious plot to convince us to buy the race-changes (that we probably would have still bought even if the races were available at launch).
Posts like this make me want to race change all of my toons just out of spite for the poster.
