I am probably wrong, but I don’t remember ever seeing any debates on the quality of previous login screens. Just the fact this thread exists says something.
I dig the simplicity of it, but it does give me Hearthstone vibes.
^ Blizzard is slipping more and more. Zero effort, zero polish and it shows.
They used to be A/A+. Now its C+/B-

I mean, have you looked at the version in motion as opposed to the static image? And then it’ll have music too. There’s some really nice swirling, pulsing and sparkling effects that aren’t too distracting for a login screen that lasts a second or two before you go in the game.
