Have u seen my hair ? i have tentacle as hair . . … TENTACLES. I already won this but you can be beautiful . … my sister can ress undead with light power ; we dont get a long too much but she loves the light . . .you can be a lightforged undead and fight together in the same faction .
Come we have better cities and we dont kill our king every 2 years ; and have cookies too.
Not really one for tentacles, I have a paralyzing, intense fear of marine life. Also, I’m good. Becoming lightforged sounds awful. I’d hate to lose my stunning good looks and turn into a creepy abomination like Calia.
I don’t think they will merge the Horde and Alliance or allow the races to choose between the two.
It’s much more likely that what will happen is the Horde and Alliance will make peace and just become regular friendly governments and new race agnostic adventurers organizations, similar to the order halls will form and those will become our new ingame ‘factions’.
The faction symbols on the character select screen are Horde and Alliance now because that’s what we are now. I susspect they will be replaced by new symbols when we choose our new factions in 9.0.
I think even this is too much for Blizzard to bother. They would either have to balance around double the combinations of every racial in the game, or more likely just remove racials altogether, thereby removing even more flavor from the game. From Blizzard’s perspective I don’t think they consider things like Alliance percentage of participation in high level raiding to be that important.
Use logic everyone. Theyd have to change too much. Achievements, flight paths, quests, and many others. Zandalari would quit if they merged. Alliance killed their king, a person they didnt even know for no reason.
Allowing players to choose the faction their character allies with is not a merge of the factions. And your insistence on maintaining factions based on race is in itself racist ideology and an inflammatory Sunday post.
Further the “faction war” has been a weak plot device since at least WC3. There is always some big bad that means we have to unite to save the world.
If they merge factions I think that will be it for me, 11 years being Horde fighting for the red banner only to make permanent peace and live together with devolved titan constructs and space goats… disgusting.
The factions have been watered down since BC. Paladins and Shamans ceased to be faction specific classes, which was a major blow, and then the belves joined the Horde, which would have been as weird and faction-breaking as trolls joining the Alliance.
At this point, let people pick their faction and drop the faction barriers in-game. It’s better for the health of the game in the long run.
There are already many cross-faction NPCs and no one has ever complained about that that I can think of. I don’t think it would “ruin” the game. It would be a different game, for sure.
