Vanilla had batching because it was a technical limitation at the time, it was never an intended game mechanic. There was no reason for classic to have it, and in fact classic didn’t have batching until late late beta as classic is using the modern game engine and they had to cludge something that’s sort of batching into it but on the back end is not vanilla batching. Beta played much better before that.
And it should have been left that way as one of the benefits of using the modern back end was no more batching.
