im explaining that it was not a hard challenge…the fact that not many people engaged with the mage tower did not mean that it was hard, it meant that people didnt care to do it at the time (whether that was for difficulty or lack of interest or lack of time, we can’t say for sure).
also you linked data saying that only 11% people completed the challenge for all specs on one toon… back in legion, blizzard had stated that the mage tower mogs would only be usable for that spec, so many people would not have bothered getting mage tower weapons for a spec they never planned to play.
I’m aware of that. I meant being able to farm it again.
In regards to BMAH,
maybe the mage tower weapons and MoP/WoD CM transmog sets can be re-added via BMAH.
Because its going to probably have really high bids and rarely appears on the BMAH, so it should still retain its rarity.
There are already some “no-longer obtainable xmog” gear sold on the BMAH from time to time anyways.
I would have zero problem with the MOP cmode gear being added to the BMAH…honestly, it took more skill and effort to get the OG t3 nax sets than it did to get a mop cmode set.
if you were a raider that cleared nax 40 consistently enough to make a full set back in 2005/2006, you were godly.
anyways, i have my cmode set and i love it…i dont care if i see other people wearing it.
Hate to break it to you, but there isn’t any value and prestige in original skins. All they say is “I played during legion.”, because when 7.3 rolled around with ilvl creep and Netherlight Crucible they ended up facerollable. I got all 36 of them and I really suck at playing a lot of the specs.
Like seriously, I was on Phase 3 of holy priest challenge before I realized my other spells reduced CDs of my Holy Words. A core mechanic of the spec.
and to anyone who thinks that stuff shouldn’t be brought back into the game, blizzard already brought back the old Grandmarshall/High Warlord gear.
I use the grandmarshall glaive on my druid… i think it looks great… i didnt play during vanilla, so if blizzard didn’t open up the “replica versions” to people who got RBG achieves, I wouldn’t be able to use it.
You only need 1800 in current RBGs to use the replica grand marshall sets…1800 currently is NOWHERE near as challenging and time consuming as achieving rank 14 in vanilla.
kinda weird that my favorite weapon for my druid is an 18 year old polearm and my favourite DH weapon are the 16 year old glaives… wish blizzard would bring back that art team and make new stuff.
i have the flamereapers for my DH as well as whatever the vengeance mage tower weapon is called, but the warglaives look so much better to me…and i still feel just fine using the warglaives even though literally EVERY dh uses them lol
sorry but there is zero prestige attached to the mage tower weapons… true, they look cool, yes… but having a mage tower weapon doesn’t mean the person is skilled at that class/spec.
when i see someone on a gladiator mount, i say “ok, this person really is skilled.”
when i see someone with a mage tower weapon, i say “ok, this person logged on during legion at least one time.”
It’s fine if you feel that way but for people like me who did it week 1 or week 2 of it being around, it was prestigious. Not everyone just logged on during Legion’s final weeks. I did 36/36. Did I do some of them late Legion? Sure. But you can’t just slide a slate on everyone and be like “yeah their accomplishment meant nothing because other people might have gotten it late Legion”. That’s devaluing what they did.
Nothing I despise more in this game than people like yourself whose only pleasures comes from what other people don’t have. But don’t worry, Blizzard LONG ago gave into your FOMO nonsense.
That’s just a bad argument because that’s a handicap you put on yourself. It wasn’t in the requirements to do such a thing. We can use this course of logic for anything. After an expansion is over all raid achievements and transmogs should be unobtainable because there are people that did it week 1.
It’s just as bad an argument to say “People and their accomplishments do not mean anything because other people did it at a later point”. That’s also silly.
But they don’t. The guy that did it at the end of the expansion with full antorus gear and lego’s has it the same as you and your week 1 or 2 completion. The prestige clearly isn’t that maintained if that’s the case. What’s the logic here?
Then you and I may as well agree to disagree because I feel the opposite. And that’s okay. If you completed a challenge at any point, so long as it is within the allotted time frame, I would look at you and say “well done, enjoy your reward” and be done with it.
Time sensitive means time sensitive. “From this day, to this day, you have an opportunity to win X”. Congratulations, you performed. Well done.
Nothing else matters to me. And I will always be on the side of preserving achievement, and advocating for more time sensitive content that people can be proud of, as opposed to taking it away because people turned “FOMO” into a nonsensical boogie man.
you know, when other DHs see me wearing this elite pvp set from season 7, they ask me where i got it… i explain to them that it was from getting 2000 rating in pvp during legion… they ask me if they can get it by getting 2000 rating this season…
i have to tell them, no its not obtainable anymore… and you know what, i kinda hate to have to say that to people because they get disappointed.
That’s okay. I don’t. People ask me all the time about my elite set. People ask me all the time about my PvP tabard, or my enchant. Does it matter? No. I tell them the time came and went, sorry, use it as motivation to get your own. Real easy. Their disappointment can be used as motivation, much like I would do it. If I was disappointed I missed out on something, then I would bust my chops to make sure I don’t feel that way again.
I would be, but I can advocate against it considering Blizzard’s own words on these very forums where they said “We will respect player time, and achievement, and not be bringing them back”. Seems pretty cut and dry to me.
