Please disable Tier set in M+ or enable catalyst week 1

Dear Blizzard,

As a player I appreciate the general direction of the game going into DF. Alot of good things like alt friendly systems, rated solo queue. No alternate power etc.

However, its almost 2023 and if we are looking at WoW 2.0, please don’t force M+ player to raid, and vice versa of course.

The increase in M+ vault item level was a good change, but since there is basically no way to get tier pieces without raiding for the first 6 weeks , you are forcing people’s gameplay again. Either consider disabling tier set in M+ or let us have the catalayst from the start.

On a related note, I also don’t feel its fair for raiders having to do M+ to prepare for raiding. The CE guild i am raiding with told us the other day that they expect every raider to hit up M+ relentlessly for the first couple days of Week 1. That is a much bigger issue though, I don’t know what would be a good solution for that.

Ultimately M+ and Raiding are very different types of PVE content, and there are people who enjoy both, or only one of them. Good game design should not force people to play the content they don’t want to play just to play the content they want to play.

Not that it matters but my background is multiple CE raiding and M+ title in S3/S4. And yes i am referring to playing M+ Semi-competitively, not casually where I guess having early tier sets wouldn’t really matter.

They still drop from the M+ Vault like they did in Shadowlands.

As someone who much prefers M+ to raiding I think this is a terrible idea.

M+ and raiding are two sides of the same coin. This is not like the PvP / PvE divide.

Raiding should be mandatory for high end M+ and M+ should be mandatory for high end raiding.

I do think the catalyst should be enabled on week 1 though, but for different reasons.

Why? They are completely different activities.

Most people I meet in-game hates one and prefers the other one, myself included. Everyone does both because they HAVE to, not because they want to.

Jokes on you, I hate both of them.

That was an extremely low droprate. Extremely low.

I never said it wasn’t. I was responding to a post saying there was no way for someone who doesn’t raid to get Tier in the first 6 weeks.

Completely agree - I don’t want to raid at all yet would like to push pvp and mythic+

Raiding with 24 people for hours is miserable

:dracthyr_uwu:

I think the problem is tier sets for m+ players were made to feel like hand-me-downs to try to “encourage” people to raid. Basically indirect enough people won’t call it out for being parasitic.

If it were something to truly be earned by m+ players, you’d be getting tier sets instead through pushing high keys as a rare drop that only appears then. This would encourage riskier key pushing and not make it feel inferior to raiding.

I agree we need hour long account wide deserter CD’s for people who leave mythic+.

I strongly agree the catalyst should be available earlier.

I’m pointing out that it’s moot, because of how low it is. Not even worth mentioning its existence.

M+ isn’t out week 1. Unless you’re talking about the same week the raids get released. Also, pushing keys happens more in the tail end of the season. By that time you’ll have more than enough catalyst charges. As a wise panda once said…slooooooooow down.

You don’t have to have tier to mythic+ and you don’t have to mythic+ to raid.

It sounds like you’re asking blizzard to fix a problem you are having with expectations that are being put on you by your guild, your mythic+ group, or you.

You’ll be ok.

I can respect your personal opinion on this, though I have to respectfully disagree.

The sole reason being is M+ was aimed at the dungeon runner groups or small friends/family groups/guilds, if I’m not mistaken.

It was content for small groups that could never hold a proper raid roster together long enough to progress in a meaningful way.

I understand that these areas have certainly changed a LOT since their inception, I for one don’t wish to be forced into mandatory raiding that I’d be at the mercy of pugs to complete… just to go back into my small friends/oriented sized group content.

Over the years, I went from being a heavy raider down to not really participating at all any more. It makes me sad I don’t but I just can’t stand feeling pinned down to a specific time each week to do the same thing over and over again and hope, I win the RNG lottery and get the gear I’ve needed.

M+ is dicey enough as majority of the time, I get gold and nothing else… if it weren’t for the Vault.

Running dungeons has been required to gear for raid since the game came out. End of story. Gearing for 5 man only players is better now than at any point in the history of WoW. If you want the best gear, faster then you need to do all the content. It’s not such a ridiculous ask.

Why though?

Leave the rest of us out of your wishes. Maybe you can have an opt in option for your tier to be disabled? I would like for mine to work.

they’re both PVE activities.

Also expect raid trinkets to be better than dungeon trinkets.

No way around that. You’ll have to do both

this was brought up in one of the recent interviews and the answer was:
raiders get it earlier because the competition is early in the season (race to world first/hall of fame, etc)
m+ers and pvpers competition is at the end of the season therefore they dont need the tier week 1, 2, 3, etc.
yeah kind of sucks for non-raiders nit it also kind of makes sense.

don’t @ me im just relaying what blizz said.
