Finally some sanity showed up. I forgot that gd is an echo chamber of contrarians.
Tbf, I was seeing pvpers wanting them and even covenants disabled throughout shadowlands regardless. I don’t view the complaints now as being any different than before.
No thanks.
DF is definitely exciting in that aspect. There were just so many variables and things to do with conduits and soulbinds and unlocking them and getting the memories and then weekly gated mandatory choregast and then the gold cost itself, having a 2 week lockout to swapping covenants, having to do pve quests for renown, conquest weapons having different stats depending on your covenant because reasons?, conduits not being obtainable from pvp and requiring world content and pve/rng (200 radiance conduit vs 259 radiance was like 40%+ healing increase), sockets from world content exalted rep and having sockets giving you 10% more movespeed, etc. Some bis legendary memories locked behind world boss rotations too because why not . Missing stam increases/potency slots on alts that were low renown level before the catchups
My personal war was against honor gear upgrades being locked by renown (and still are lol)
It makes perfect sense. People are tired of borrowed power systems and want them retired permanently and immediately.
Your above I had no issue with (personally I liked how we had in 8.3, do everything in all areas = bis character), and yes blizz should have opened up overlap for pvp (worst being the pitiful conduit selection natively from conq vendor).
Also all of SL honor gear just felt like a trap. Spend all that time in farming for honor even after the timegating just to still fall up 25+ ilvls short of elite. I just felt dumb wasting my time in s1, that I couldn’t help but laugh at how it kept being propagated forward. Of course it should never be elite. But with that existing structure that it would have fallen somewhere near like challenger if fully upgraded.
are you claiming all wow players are a hive mind except yourself as the sole free thinker?
Do you consider yourself original typing that, as some sort of defiance to what I said?
You can’t actually double up tho OP. Like, if you’re a Night Fae druid and you pick Convoke, you’ll have two Convoke buttons but they share a CD and do the same thing, it’s no different from if you just dragged it to your bars twice.
You can change your talent loadouts any time, so you can swap to Convoke for raids if you want.
You didn’t say anything original, you just whined about player complaints as if they are inconsistent rather that different players concerned about different things.
So yes, my reply to you is valid. This isn’t a single mind that you are up against
imagine waking up in the morning needing to run to the forums and crying in asking to disable one of the main things of a current expansion while it is still current
your comment is nowhere near as witty as you believe it to be.
the WoW community contradicts itself at every turn and no, this isn’t simply a case of “imagine there being multiple opinions in a collective”…this is a far worse issue HERE than what I have seen in other MMO communities…
There is a line in the sand division between camp Y and camp X which are polar opposites of each other and this is exactly the problem here…
You have camp Y that only cares about the three pillars of WoW and damn everything else and let me blow through the leveling process ASAP because “the game starts at endgame lul”
You have camp X which says I care more about the journey than the boring repetitive grindy endgame of the same 3 activities…
Both camps believe themselves to be equally correct and equally the majority…and both camps contradict each other at every turn in such a way that it creates a confusing environment where I can’t even imagine how the devs decipher the feedback…but I’d assume at some point in the analysis they arrive at the crossroad and have to make a decision of do we go after Y demo or X…who is our target and if it was Y yesterday, should it be X tomorrow?
Like, this is a fundamental dividing issue here, this is a division of what WoW is in itself…its not just simple discourse over “I don’t like the UI or X” feature…it’s a division of what it means to play WoW…and it’s a tiring argument to straddle the line on.
Well, you aren’t so someone has to.
Yeah i completely agree.
Gut all the leggos and covenants and completely disable all of them. Trying to level and I need to worry about all this garbage when I just want to be ready for dragonflight. Its such a massive barrier to entry for something that wont exist in 3 weeks.
Just don’t bother.
Level up, enjoy the talent trees. They make up for a lot of what you’d be missing otherwise. One of my alts had her DPS go up by like 3k just picking up talents for things I hadn’t unlocked yet for her.
There’s really no reason to try to push to be “the best” with legendaries/etc at this point. Kick back, relax, and get serious in DF.
They do? I feel like im missing a dozen spells at even level 50. So much of my talent tree was baseline abilities that are completely gone because there arent enough points.
Shamans used to have a good kit, but now i click my ele page at level 50 and there are 5 spells. Thats it. 5. Thats ugh… not good lol
That’s completely separate from what you’re saying about getting legendaries though. That’s something all classes have experienced with the trees, as they’re built for level 70 characters, and we are only 60 right now; i.e., we are intentionally missing parts of our kit.
Legendaries, covenant and renown buffs/abilities, conduits, etc. will all disappear in DF. I was just saying there’s no reason to worry about dealing with all the grinding and catch-up for those things.
Yeah you right i did mix the two things. They are completely seperate.
It feels like I need to worry about leggos and covenants to complete my kit because there arent nearly enough spells or damage or anything without them. Hard to get a good feel for a class when im missing 50% of my power when i want to do a little world content for 252 catch up gear.
Most of the good legendaries and several of the covenant abilities got baked into the talent tree anyway. Gear ilvl will boost you better than anything else.
wish granted but the patch they do the change comes on 29 nov
